Dr Andreia Gomes graduated in February 2021 from the University of Évora in Portugal. Animals were always her passion, but there was a specific moment when her purpose in life was clear. After a few days of volunteering in the veterinary clinic in her village, a dog severely injured by a boar appeared. It was in such a bad state that it needed emergency surgery. Since that moment, becoming a veterinary surgeon has been her dream
After graduation, Andrea immediately started working in a veterinary hospital in Viseu, a large city near her hometown. She had the opportunity to deal with a huge variety of cases .
Her dream of becoming a surgeon grew stronger and she decided to come to Ireland.
Every day, Dr Andreia works hard to demonstrate her capacity as a vet. On top of performing in surgery and observing other vets, she is constantly reading, attending webinars and professionally developing on different courses.
Giorgia graduated in animal care and welfare in Italy, She left her hometown to travel to Australia. Giorgia worked in Melbourne as a vet nurse in a feline veterinary clinic for 2 years.
Working with animals has always been her childhood dream.
After her Australian adventure she went back home and attended the 6 month course in animal physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Giorgia loves studying in order to improve her knowledge and nursing skills.
Giorgia joined Applewood Vets at the beginning of 2022 and she started her journey towards the vet nurse registration.
Dr John is from Moldova. Studied and qualified from USAMV Iasi, Romania in 2020 as a Veterinary Surgeon. He has joined Applewood Team where he has a keen interest in Digital imaging and laboratory diagnostics. John wants to always focus on what's best for each pet and give them the care they deserve.
Krzysztof Wisniewski graduated in 2004 from University "Warmia and Mazury" in Poland. From the very beginning he was involved in small animal work. At first, he spent three years in modern, referral pet hospital in Poland, then he moved to Ireland and worked for famous orthopaedic specialist William McCartney and in the end he gained invaluable experience working sole charge in Newbridge Veterinary Clinic. Having over 8 years' experience on board and have been dealing with wide range of different cases, including: consultations, surgeries, emergencies, etc…, he decided to open his own veterinary clinic. Krzysztof Wisniewski is hard working and determined vet, keen to help and get the proper diagnosis for your pet. He is also striving to keep his knowledge as much up to date as possible by attending many of seminars, doing practical courses .
Krzysztof has the special interest in the Veterinary Dermatology. In 2020, he obtained the designated certificate from the University of Liverpool. Since then, he has been very active in the Dermatology field, taking part in European and World Dermatology Congresses.
He is also a member of British Veterinary Dermatology Study Group and European Society of Veterinary Dermatology.
Dr Radu has a master's degree in veterinary medicine. He graduated from the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca, Romania in 2011.
He had been working with his father and brother back in Romania in the mix animal clinic.
Radu moved to Ireland in 2018. He was involved in small animal work and mainly emergency cases.

Local from Malahide. It was always her dream to work with animal. She was previously trained with the RCVS. Qualified in June 2022 from Cork FET as Veterinary Nurse. Sharon is the happy owner of the dog Freckles and 2 cats Alfie and Dora.
Ysobel studied animal science and graduated in 2022. Sha has always been passionate about animals and knew she wanted to work with them from a very young age. From taking an injured bird as a child and looking after stray kittens and dogs as an adult. Ysobel is the owner of two dogs Florrie and Charlie.She has a lot of hand on experience as well as knowledge about animals. She will always be the first to greet you and your furry friend at reception. She hopes to go onto becoming a veterinary nurse.
