Bryan Davila

As Sr. Project Manager, Bryan brings over 10 years of experience strategizing, planning, and producing digital and experiential marketing campaigns for top-tier CPG and entertainment companies. Building on his past roles leading teams and establishing business processes, at Science, he oversees marketing initiatives and manages elements of business operations, product development, team building, and partner outreach for our startups. A Los Angeles native and graduate of the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, Bryan's deep interest in opportunities stemming from changing cultural norms keeps him focused on helping to build the next generation of socially impactful high-growth companies.

Elle Park

Job Titles:

Elle is an Executive Assistant at Science and graduate of the University of California San Diego. She has been playing Tetris with Mike Jones' calendar for about 8 years, starting at MySpace. Elle lives in Venice with her boyfriend and their puppy Darondo.

Greg Gilman

Greg has more than 20 years of relevant experience as an executive, entrepreneur, investor, and attorney and is responsible for developing the firm's resilient structure. Over the course of his career, he's also been an active angel investor or advisor to dozens of companies, including DocStoc (acquired by Intuit), Tsavo (acquired by Cybermedia), Userplane (acquired by AOL), Maker Studios (acquired by Disney), PlutoTV (acquired by Viacom), Scopely, and ZipRecruiter. Greg saw the potential in digital assets long before the topic was mainstream; drawing on his legal and financial services background, Greg architected the sale of one of the world's first compliant digital securities in order to raise capital for the Science Blockchain incubator. He is the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of RxVantage, a healthcare data and informatics company that intelligently connects healthcare providers with life science experts as needed, is currently used by every major life sciences company, and has been named one of the top 10 medical practice solutions providers in the United States. Greg previously served as a Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Law at Pepperdine University School of Law, where he also designed and taught courses on Intellectual Property and Licensing.

Ignacio Juarez

Ignacio came to Science following years of agency experience managing fully integrated campaigns. Now focused on hypergrowth, he specializes in tactical media buying, blending content marketing and direct response strategies toward aggressive growth targets. When not at his computer you can find him at the beach, on his bike, or watching football.

James Hicks - Managing Director

James is the Managing Director. He has 12 plus years of experience working with startups and growth sector businesses - serving as a co-founder and managing over 10 businesses across e-commerce, marketplaces, and mobile in the last four years that have raised over $60m from top-tier VCs. James is a former investment banker who managed over 30 IPOs for technology, consumer, and healthcare companies.

Johanna Deming

Johanna is the Project Manager - Legal at Science. She has more than 10 years of experience in corporate law and legal management. She has supported dozens of startups and growth companies with formation, corporate governance, IP matters, financing events, and transactions. Prior to Science, Johanna supported entity management, transactions, and SEC reporting at AECOM, a global engineering and infrastructure company.

Kartik Mandaville

Kartik is the founder and CEO of SpringRole - blockchain based proessional profile. He also serves as an Advisor at Science, Handstand (on demand fitness trainers - funded by Reebok), Lenny (helps build one's credit score) and Burst (electric toothbrushes on subscription). He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh with Masters from the Language Technologies Institute, School of Computer Science. In his free time, he likes to bike and play badminton.

Lindsay Weller

Lindsay advises growth strategy for portfolio companies and corporate projects at Science. Her 10+ years of digital growth experience stems from the agency side where she worked with start-up and corporate clients across consumer products, media, gaming and entertainment, as well as the start-up side, in early hire roles at DTC businesses and then as a co-founder. Working technically and creatively, Lindsay focuses on product positioning, marketing strategy, research and design to find meaningful growth and products that stick. Lindsay is a graduate of Santa Clara University. When not focused on start-up strategy, Lindsay enjoys athletics, entertainment, and pursuing her study of music.

Marlene Rivetty

Michael Jones

As a founder of studio and venture fund Science Inc., Mike leverages his operational expertise and keen entrepreneurial talent to help Science founders scale highly profitable and successful businesses. Mike develops predictive strategies for portfolio companies, and the firm overall, that taps into future societal shifts and disrupts entrenched markets. A longtime Internet executive, entrepreneur, and strategic adviser, Mike spent his career growing businesses ranging from early stage startups to private equity-backed assets to public media companies.Mike's ability to predict the next shift extends beyond his work at Science to when he served as the CEO of Myspace. In his role he foresaw the impact of social influence over software, a predictive strategy he also saw as CEO of Userplane (acquired by AOL), and investment in HouseParty (acquired by Epic). Peter Pham

Peter Pham leads the effort to raise money for Science incubated companies which has totaled $400M. By focusing on business development throughout his career and building a robust and strong network, Peter has sharpened his skills in identifying the best talent behind strong brand identity, as seen with his hands-on work with PlayVS, Liquid Death, and Mammoth Media. Previously as an operator, he has helped companies like Photobucket as employee No. 5, spearheading growth and corporate development, thereby leading the company to its $300M acquisition to MySpace, as well as lending his insights as cofounder and CEO of BillShrink which was acquired by MasterCard in 2012. Priscilla Guevara

Priscilla is a General Partner and Head of Investor Relations at Science Inc., where she manages LP relations, communications & marketing, and events across Science Funds. Additionally, she leads the structuring and capital formation efforts for SPVs and new opportunity vehicles. Priscilla has over 15 years of domestic and international finance experience in venture, asset management and capital markets, complemented by a deep operational and regulatory foundation. Prior to Science, Priscilla served as an investor at ZX Ventures (Anheuser-Busch's CVC arm). In this role, Priscilla oversaw the technology platform, which included global deals in the supply chain & logistics and marketing/adtech space, among others. Additionally, she was an investor in sustainable assets on behalf of family offices, and led Strategy & Ops at SevenRooms and Business Development at Whispr Group. Further, her early international experience and expertise across Wall Street from Sumitomo Mitsui to Neuberger Berman and JCAM (Moore Capital) has resulted in growth of $10B+ AUM. A graduate of Columbia Business School, Priscilla is also a proven and successful entrepreneur with a strong, valued network. She is currently the Chair of the Senior Women in Private Equity Group (West Coast Chapter) and an Active Member of 100 Women in Finance. She is also currently on the Development Committee of the James Beard Foundation, having previously served on the board of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (NYC Chapter) as the Chair of Society Ties, its young professionals group. Robert Carter - CFO

He has over 10 years working in startup companies and worked in external audit at KPMG previous to the private sector. A graduate of Western Washington University, Robert is a CPA, and bike commutes to SaMo from Hermosa Beach year round.

Sarah Brand

Sarah is Director of Media at Science Inc. She directs and edits original video content, advises social media strategy, and manages overall content creation. She is skilled in bringing social consciousness to media content, seeking to create the most impactful media for disruptive portfolio companies. She has experience producing, directing, and editing viral media content that has received international coverage from leading news outlets. Sarah received her Master of Science from the University of Oxford and Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley.

Tom Dare

We see what others don't. We source the strongest talent, provide operational guidance, and predict and invest in the future. Tom leads fund and portfolio operations for Science Inc, tapping into his 20+ years of experience building and managing Internet companies through startup, growth, and turnaround stages. His keen eye for identifying what the future of work will look like shows up regularly in his modern and mobile approach to portfolio construction. He is currently on the boards of PlayVS and Empirical. Prior to Science, Tom served as the VP of Business Intelligence for Myspace and was the COO of Tsavo Media, an online publishing network of more than 400 owned and operated sites. Tom spent four years with Spark Networks, an online personals and social networking provider, in charge of strategic development. Prior to Spark, Tom was part of the founding management team at Move, an online real estate listing service serving consumers and brokers. Tom's career in online media started with The Los Angeles Times, where he developed online classified businesses and partnerships within the newspaper industry. Tommy Riggs
