Why should your home be tested? Many houses suffer from problems that homeowners don't realize are actually energy related. Energy testing and audits help homeowners discover where and how their homes are using energy inefficiently, and what can be done to rectify the situation. A blower door test can find leaks in your envelope (walls, ceilings, windows, doors) and a duct test determines the duct leakage. Both of these tests are required by the newer building energy codes... All new buildings, additions and envelope-renovated buildings should be tested before occupancy; it's just good practice.
