CRANFORD PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL - Key Persons
I taught at Yateley Infants and Cranford Park. I have served on the Governing Body as a staff governor and now as a co-opted governor. I have been a member of Girlguiding for many years and run one of the local Brownie Units. I have held a variety of roles within Girlguiding at local, County and National level.
I have been a Co-opted Governor at Cranford Park since September 2021 and although not from Yateley I do live locally. I have a desire to help out in the local community where I can and although not working in education myself, decided to help out through a governor role here at Cranford Park. I work in the energy industry and am a scientist by background, so I hope I can bring a new perspective to the school governing body. I have two small children, one at primary age, so feel I understand the concerns and challenges parents face at this stage of life. I have been lucky enough to visit the school on multiple occasions and am really looking forward to many more visits in the future.
Having worked at Yateley School for over 20 years, I am now dipping my toe into primary school life. My role within Yateley will hopefully bring a different educational experience to the Governing Body. Prior to joining Yateley, I worked for 12 years in one of the various Sales and Marketing department of Procter & Gamble so a very diverse background. I have two children, both of whom have attended local primaries and Yateley School, both in their 20's and living away from home.
Job Titles:
- Chairman of Governors - Foundation Governor
I have lived in Yateley with my husband for nearly 25 years and have been very happy here. We have two sons, one is at university in Manchester and the other works in Leicester. I was a governor at St Peters Junior school before the amalgamation, but that seems a distant memory now. It has been really interesting to be on the Governing Body of Cranford Park right from the start and I believe the school has an exciting future . I am a foundation governor, which means I am one of three representatives of St Peters Church on the governing body, and so it won't be a surprise when I say that I am actively involved at the church. I coordinate all of the childrens and family events that take place there and help to lead one of the weekly services with my husband. I have had a mixed career, starting as a paint technologist developing and testing paints for respraying cars, I then researched engineering plastics and worked in the space industry helping to build satellites. Finally, when my children were young I trained as a teacher. I like to spend time regularly in the school as a helper and I also lead some collective acts of worship (assemblies). I really enjoying getting to know the children and being part of the school community.
I have been a Governor at Cranford Park CE Primary School since January 2015, when I was a staff Governor and became a Co-opted Governor when I left the school in 2017. I enjoy my role as SEN Governor. Working in the school again now, I am lucky enough to see the children thrive in their day to day activities. I have always lived in Yateley and attended Yateley Infants and St Peter's Junior school as a child.
