HARTVILLE FAMILY EYE CARE - Key Persons

James M. Miller

Dr. James Miller attended Cedarville University prior to graduating summa cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2006-alongside his friend Dr. Randy Omlor. While he was interested in pursuing a degree in the medical field in college, his brother's (Dr. Robert Miller) influence led him to narrow that pursuit to optometry. He really enjoys being able to use his optometric degree help people of all ages in a tangible way on a day-to-day basis. The relatively family-friendly nature of an optometric practice schedule is an extra benefit for Dr. Miller since he and his wife, Natasha, have four daughters. They currently reside in Sugarcreek in the same house they purchased the year of his graduation (2006), and they are active partners at Mercy Hill Church in Berlin. Dr. Miller enjoys spending time with his family, doing projects around the house, learning to smoke meat, and reading books as well as listening to podcasts-the latter two activities being primarily focused on theological content. Though he has mostly given up playing sports himself, he still enjoys watching his daughters play. Additionally, as of January 2024, Dr. Miller is also honored to serve on the Garaway Local Schools Board of Education. Education: Doctorate of Optometry - Ohio State, 2006
