Charles Barlow - CEO, Founder, President

Charles has flown drones, operated underwater systems, and driven ground robots in the snows of Canada, the jungles of Guatemala and the vast deserts of Arabia. He has helped large companies and governments to roll out unmanned systems programs and to make the data they produce truly useful. Prior to Robotics Centre, Charles spent many years with Canada's Department of National Defence, both as a military officer and, later, as a civilian. He ran the Afghanistan Intelligence Response Team, was DND's senior secondee to the Integrated Threat Assessment Centre, and served in Bosnia, Israel, Lebanon & Afghanistan.

Eric Karmouch

Eric holds a Doctorate in computer science, is a published technical author, a recognized researcher, and a driver of research and innovation in the Ottawa tech hub. Having previously served as the Lead Research Engineer for March Networks, Eric brings 6 years of experience in the video surveillance and business intelligence space as well as a strong technical vision to Robotics Centre. Eric received his B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science, from the School of Information Technology and Engineering at the University of Ottawa, and his M.Sc. degree from the School of Computing at Queen's University. Eric has served on a number Organizing and Program Committees for international IEEE conferences and has been recognized for his ongoing contributions to the IEEE Ottawa Chapter. He is the founder of the highly successful IEEE Ottawa L&L event brining Ottawa government, academia, and industry together in space to connect, communicate, and collaborate, and was elected to the grade of IEEE Senior Member in 2016.

Francis Bleeker - COO

Francis brings to Robotics Centre a wealth of experience and knowledge in international business based on over 30 years in senior positions in the defence industry, government and military. He has a vast industry network in Canada and overseas. In this role Francis advises the president and vice-president on business and legal matters. He co-ordinates strategies and establishes company policies and practices including Robotics Centre's subsidiary in KSA. Francis holds a master's degree in law from Leiden University, an MBA from the Open Business School, UK, and has completed the Canadian Security Studies Programme at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto. He is president of the Ottawa chapter of Treble Victor Group, a veteran's business network.

James Brown

James is a distinguished and highly decorated Canadian Armed Forces veteran with over 18 years of Special Operations experience. Deployed on operations that spanned across the globe, James has lead teams that employed both unmanned and counter-drone systems on missions of national strategic importance. James has a passion for deploying to the field to assess customer requirements and help build tailored solutions. With certifications across multiple platforms and vast experience in business and training development, James will collaborate with your team to provide end to end robotics systems that are optimised to meet your needs.

Khaled El-Sayed - Founder, VP

Khaled El-Sayed is an Ottawa based entrepreneur with over 25 years experience. He is a creative thinker, problem solver and a dynamic decision maker who effectively balances the needs of his clients and the strategic vision of Robotics Centre. Capitalizing on his strong networking abilities, Khaled has managed to project Robotics Centre into the toughest global markets. As a philanthropist, Khaled has spear-headed several charitable initiatives raising over 7.5 million dollars for many charities such as Juvenile Diabetes, Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and the Ottawa Cancer Foundation, to name a few.
