Growth doesn't just happen without people managing it. Learn how City Center Waco manages the Waco Public Improvement District (PID) and implements its programs... With the City's blessing, City Center Waco convened focus groups of neighborhood members to speak into the planning of such a space. These community folks shared elements of the history, values and priorities of East Waco. Their direction - and especially the phrase "We are a front porch neighborhood" - guided a design that features not only "front porch" type seating areas and a permanent plaza, but a specially-designed street that can be closed and turned into an extended festival area during events...
