Thor has 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, primarily focusing on urban development and construction. From 2005, he played a central role in the development of Barcode in Bjørvika, as deputy CEO with responsibility for development and marketing. Prior to this he worked for Eiendomshuset Malling, Fearnley Finans, and SkifteEiendom. In 2016 he founded ThorReal - a venture that played a key role in developing the iconic Telegrafen building in Oslo's Kvadraturen district. Thor played a significant part in the establishment of the Oslo Metropolitan Area (OMA), where he held the position of chair from 2010 to 2014. Furthermore, he was associated with Oslo Urban Arena (OUA), where he served as a board member and owner until 2016. Based on his role in its establishment in 2016, Vedal appointed Thor as CEO of Oslo Airport City AS in 2019.
