Charles Clinton Ferman

Charles Clinton Ferman, 86, of Huntington, was welcomed into the arms of his savior, as his faith became sight on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Spring Valley Freedom Baptist Church with Pastors Gary Graves and Bob McGlone officiating. Interment will follow in Cyrus Cemetery. Charles was born May 5, 1937 in Prichard, WV. a son of the late Wallace Ferman and the late Fern Murphy. Charles was an environmental specialist with Columbia Gas for forty-three years. His passion was golfing and serving the Lord in any capacity. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-father John Murphy; son Jimmy Ferman; daughter Jennifer Viohl and brother-in-law OB Stallard. Survivors include his beloved wife of thirty-eight years Rebecca Sargent Ferman; daughters Teri Booth (Mark), Beth Perry (Verland); step-daughters Kristi Bostic and Kellie Harris (Tug); grandchildren Carrie Harper (Tim), Sara McClure (Brian), Leigh Anne Reynolds (Chris), Rob Viohl (Randi), Matt Viohl (Ella), Eric Viohl, Josh Perry, Meg Boudah (Jeremy), Abbi Slaughter (TJ), Logan, Charlee and Emelia Harris; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother Jack Ferman (Mary); one sister Wanda Stallard; nephew Mark Ferman (Diane) and a special son-in-law Bob Viohl. David Leo Ball

David Leo Ball, 71, of Kenova, WV passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at his residence. David Leo was born May 26, 1952 in Kenova a son of the late James Leo and Donna Jean Wheeler Ball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Deborah Sizemore. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Leigh (John) Stafford; one son and daughter-in-law Matthew (Becky) Ball; six grandchildren Hudson, Mack and Teddy Stafford, Abigail, Logan and Lincoln Ball and his partner and best friend for over twenty years, Vickie Holley. Leo graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School in 1970 and was a salesman for Con-Jel and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 93 Kenova. David Leo made many lifelong friends at Ceredo-Kenova High School. He cherished these friendships and always looked forward to spending time with his friends. He was a loving father and Papaw, who always told everyone how much he loved them. He made many trips to Kentucky and Colorado to make lasting memories with his kids and grandkids. He will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. Friends are encouraged to join us at the America Legion Post 93 on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 for a celebration of life at 5:00 P.M. Donna Medley Painter

On Friday, January 27, 2024, Donna Medley Painter, 88 years old, entered her eternal heavenly home at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Donna was born on August 12, 1935 in Prichard, W.Va. to Sherman "Sherm" William and Alberta "Dossie" Smith Medley both deceased. She held several jobs over the years including Account Services at the Huntington Credit Bureau, Huntington, W.Va.; Collections Agent at King's Daughters Hospital in Ashland, KY, along with acting as Manager of several large Hotel Specialty Boutiques in Daytona Beach, FL. Donna was a beautiful woman, who lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She loved chatting with family and friends, decorating her home, and cooking dish after dish for others. Donna was predeceased by her husband, William Edward Painter and her first husband, Charles William Adams. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rae Ann and Wendell Parsons; her son, Robert Joseph Adams; her beloved grandson and family, Jason William and Stephanie Parsons and her grandsons, Jared and Ian McCagg. They were all her KIDS! Special friends included her sister friend, Betty James, Jimmy and Barbara Blankenship and Reva Noble. Edra Louise Thacker Selby, 80, of Kenova, WV., was united with her Savior and husband Friday, March 22, 2024. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday March 27, 2024 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Baker and Pastor Tony Cicenas officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Edra was born in Kenova, WV. a daughter of the late John Harrison and Katherine Elizabeth Meredith Thacker. Edra was retired from the State of WV DHHR. She was a member of the Marcum Chapter Order of the Eastern Star whose members will conduct services at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kenova where she over saw the crib nursery for 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph Selby; three brothers Charles Thacker, Bobby Dale Thacker and Stanley Ray Thacker; two nieces Cheryl Thacker and Buffy Arthur; brother-in-law Roger Haynie and a sister-in-law Sandra Thacker. Erma Ilene Pemberton

Erma Ilene Pemberton of Wayne County passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Sterling and Estel Gilkerson of Wayne County. She is survived by her husband Harold Pemberton; her two sons Michael (Sharon) Pemberton of Surry, VA. And Chris (Terri) Pemberton of Huntington; three grandchildren Erin Pemberton, Jacynn Pemberton, and Ryann Pemberton; and three step-grandchildren Nicholas Young, Mathew Young, and Jessica Young. She is also survived by her brother Leonard (Helen) Gilkerson of Lavalette; a sister-in-law Donna Gilkerson of Huntington; a special nephew Ray Gilkerson of Huntington; two nieces Theresa Gilkerson and Angela Gilkerson; and a special friend Sharon Hodges from Kenova. Glen Roy Robertson

Glen Roy Robertson, 85, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Graveside service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday February 29, 2024 at Hillcrest Cemetery with Pastor Kim Stone officiating. Glen was born July 28, 1938 in Prichard, WV. a son of the late Arvel and Arvilla Nelson Robertson. He was a retired heavy equipment operator from the state road department. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers John L. Robertson and Herbert P. Robertson. Survivors include two sons Carl A. Robertson and Glen Roy Robertson, Jr.; step-daughter Rebecca Renee Spence; step-son James Tomblin and brother Steve Robertson. Jeanetta Joanna Ratcliff Ferrell

Jeanetta Joanna Ratcliff Ferrell, 71 of Ceredo, W.Va. passed away on January 25, 2024 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. She was born May 26, 1952 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Roy "Steve" and Betty Irons Ratcliff. Jeanetta was employed by the Wayne County Board of Education as an Executive Secretary with 33 years of service. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Ceredo where she was involved in the Good News Club, the Snak Pak Ministry and she helped with the children on Wednesday and Sunday nights. Jeanetta was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Jaiyme Michelle Mills and a brother; Steven Scott Ratcliff. She is survived by a brother, Johnathan Lee Ratcliff; she also leaves behind two very special children to whom she was Nana, Dria and Shooter Parker; the parents of these special children, Jimmy and Nicole Parker and their grandparents, Dale and Dinah Ledbetter; and special friends, Kate Oldham and Cindy Lowe. Visitation will be Monday, January 29, 2024 from 11:00 am until noon at the First Baptist Church of Ceredo, Fellowship Hall. Kimberly Jean Mannon

Kimberly Jean Mannon, 64, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away March 5, 2024 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. Kim was born July 15, 1959 in Huntington a daughter of the late Paul and Julia Carver Mannon. She grew up in Ceredo, W.Va. and graduated from C-K High School in 1977. Kim then continued on to earn her BSN from Mountain State University and Master of Science Nursing from Walden University. Kim was also inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing, Nu Alpha Chapter Marshall University. She was honored with a Certificate of Excellence by King's Daughter Medical Center Critical Care/Emergency Care Units in recognition of her dedication, passion, and exemplary nursing skills provided to patients and their families. She was currently the Assistant Chief Executive Officer at Mildred Mitchell Bateman Hospital. Kim was passionate about her family and spending time together, sharing a meal and making memories. She also loved her work and the people with whom she worked. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Rhonda Mannon; two special nieces, Jaclyn Mannon and her sons, Evan and Cashtyn and Jordan and Travis Nash and their children, Liam, Charlotte, and Elizabeth; special cousins, Misty Davies, Brieanne Davies and Lisa Jennings; one uncle, Richard Plymale and a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins. Lloyd Edward Cochenour, 80, of Wayne passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at his residence. Graveside service will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Dock's Creek Cemetery in Kenova with Pastor Scott Byard officiating. He was born January 2, 1943 in Kenova a son of the late Samuel W. Cochenour, Sr. and the late Charity Walker Cochenour. He was a retired pipefitter from Columbia Gas. Survivors include his beloved wife Rebecca "Becky" Mathis Cochenour; daughter and son-in-law Missy Hardin (Mark); two grandsons Matthew Hardin and Michael Hardin; sister Marion Ferguson; brother and sister-in-law Samuel W. Cochenour, Jr. (Paula); step-son Jason Colegrove (Tracy); two step-granddaughters Kayla Colegrove and Haley Colegrove; special nephew and niece, Jeremy Cochenour and Rachel Bocook and numerous other family and friends. Mark Andrew Chaffins

MARK ANDREW CHAFFINS, 50, of Kenova, West Virginia, husband of Angela S. Chaffins, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. He was born in Huntington, West Virginia on September 16, 1973, a son of Jerry E. Chaffins and the late Wanda L. Chaffins of Kenova, West Virginia. Mark was also preceded in death by a brother, John David Chaffins. He is survived by his wife of nearly 28 years, Angela S. Chaffins; two children, Shaun M. Chaffins (fiancé, Corina) and Miranda A. Lively; father, Jerry E. Chaffins of Kenova, WV; a brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey E. and Rebecca S. Chaffins of Ceredo, WV; mother-in-law Renee Jackson (David, deceased) of Springfield, OH; sisters-in-law Lizabeth Jackson and Charity Martinez, both of Indianapolis, IN.; nieces and nephews, Kristen (Jason) Camp of Prince Frederick, MD, Abigail Chaffins of Kenova, WV, Charley and Benny Fark of Indianapolis, IN, Ziden Cunningham and Scarlett Martinez of Indianapolis, IN; great niece Hannah Camp of Prince Frederick, MD; and many, many close and dear friends. Mark is also survived by his beloved fur babies, Marley Jane, Lucy, Sadie, Daisy, Zoe, and Chester. Mark graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School in 19 91; Marshall University with a B.S. Degree in Safety Technology in 1995; and from Marshall University with an M.S. Degree in Safety Techology in 1996. He was employed by Ershigs, Inc., as Director of Health and Safety from 2003 to 2016, until he retired due to health concerns. Mark joined the Kenova Volunteer Fire Department in 1994, and has faithfully served the Kenova community ever since. He accomplished many levels of training and earned innumerable accomplishments as he has saved lives and continuously and faithfully served his community. Mark experienced great satisfaction in volunteering for the fire department, particularly in working with children, and his great love for being a member of the brotherhood of firefighters and emergency responders. Mark took great relish in participating in the "coffee crew" at the fire house every morning with special friends, Eddie Marcum, Tim Bias, and Trent Damron, while solving all the world's problems every day. Mark was a member of the Kenova United Methodist Church, where he accepted the Lord's gift of grace at an early age. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and perpetuating his firearms interests. Mark was also very proud of his do-it-yourself projects around his house. Many neighbors often mention that he was always outside working on something, while never failing to give out a shout or a friendly wave to passersby. Mark was truly respected by his neighbors and community and will be sorely missed. Visitation will be at Kenova United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with funeral services immediately after. The Rev. Andrew Tennant will be officiating. Richard Lee "Buck" Lykins

Richard Lee "Buck" Lykins, 88, of Kenova, WV, beloved father, brother, grandfather, friend, and child of God passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024. He was born July 12, 1935 to the late Moody D. and Dora Salyers Lykins. Buck graduated from Buffalo High School and joined the U.S. Army where he was honorably discharged after his term of duty was complete. Members of the Barboursville American Legion Post will conduct graveside military rites. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Lewis Lykins. Together they raised two children, Frances and Richard, Jr. Buck worked for and retired from Novamont. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ceredo. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; and four sisters, Marie Lycan, Ethel Michaels, Lois Jones and Peggy Wellman. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Frances (Jimmy) Bloss; a son and his wife, Richard Lee (Karrie) Lykins, Jr.; three grandchildren, Alexandria (Micaiah) Branch, Joshua Lykins and Rachel Lykins; his great granddaughter, Olive Branch; and three sisters and their husbands, Jean (David) Jones, Georgia (Larry) Smith and Judy (Steve) Fields; and many other nieces and nephews and special friends. Stacy Neil Morrison

Stacy Neil Morrison, 55, of Huntington, WV passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born March 30, 1968, in Huntington, WV. She was the daughter of Lynda Jeffries Hunter and the late Jimmie N. Hunter. Stacy was a graduate of Vinson High School and Marshall University. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring daughter, selfless friend, and passionate teacher. Stacy enjoyed spending time with her husband and traveling with their dear friends. Her biggest joys in life were being a mother to her two children and becoming a Nona (grandma) to her first grandchild. She was an active member of Kenova United Methodist Church, serving in the choir and volunteering in various roles. She was a drum major in high school through college where she lead her peers consistently. She was a 3rd grade teacher at Ceredo Kenova Elementary where her students were more like her children. Stacy loved fiercely. Survivors include her husband, Steven Morrison; one son and future daughter-in-law, Hunter Morrison and Holly Schneider of Columbia, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Timothy Keep Jr of Cincinnati, OH; one granddaughter, Nora Keep; her mother, Lynda Jeffries Hunter; three brothers and one sister-in-law, John Hunter, Kraig Hunter, and Chris and Lisa Hunter; and a special friend, Gus. Family and friends are invited to the services being held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Kenova United Methodist Church, by the Reverend Andrew Tennant.
