Germany's national railway company "Deutsche Bahn" plans for new railway lines with a number of long tunnels in jointed rock. In view of their length, these are suitable for TBM heading. On 28 July 2023, the German state-owned project management institution DEGES (Deutsche Einheit Fernstraßenplanungs- und -bau GmbH) awarded the contract for the construction of the 1.7 km Weser Tunnel along the A 281 highway (Autobahn) to a consortium led by Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau AG... This year, the STUVA Conference will be held at the International Congress Center Munich. By popular demand, the traditional three-day event will already be held from 8 to 10 November 2023 and thus about one month earlier than in previous years.
