Alastair has more than 49 years' banking experience. He started his career in 1975 with NatWest, building specialist knowledge of the legal sector, before joining Coutts and Ansbacher. Alastair joined the team at Hampden & Co in 2016.

Alistair offers clients strong relationship, technical and commercial expertise, developed over a 35-year career working in retail and corporate banking, internal audit, equity investment, transaction execution and portfolio management. He joined Bank of Scotland in 1989 and worked for Lloyds Banking Group, Standard Life 1825 and Homes England before joining Hampden & Co in 2022. Alistair is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
Andrew Bell - Chief Commercial Officer
Andrew has over 25 years' experience in financial services, starting his career with Lloyds Bank before moving to Coutts, where he helped develop Coutts' wealth management proposition, becoming Head of Product for the Coutts Group in 2001. In 2004 he co-founded RBS Asset Management, where as Sales and Marketing Director he expanded RBS's private client investment management business in Europe and Asia.
More recently he was Commercial Director for Aegon Asset Management Europe, guiding the Aegon group's European growth across its three constituent investment management firms. Andrew joined Hampden & Co in 2019 and was appointed to the Board in 2023.
Angus began his corporate finance career with Lazard Brothers and held senior roles at Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong and Singapore, latterly as Head of Capital Markets and Financing for the Asian region. He joined investment bank Noble & Co in 2006 and was appointed chief executive in 2007.
Angus joined the Board of Hampden & Co in October 2021. He is also chairman of Henderson Diversified Income PLC, Chairman of Pacific Horizon Investment Trust PLC and a non-executive director of the Schroder Japan Growth Fund PLC.

Caroline specialises in banking for clients involved in property development, agriculture and landed estates. She started her career with the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation in 1990, before joining Adam & Company in 1997. She joined Hampden & Co in 2014.
Caroline is an accomplished horse rider and she regularly competes at eventing around the UK.
Caroline Primrose, Executive Director, Banking, London, discusses why Hampden & Co took the unusual step of creating a Private Bank that doesn't offer investment advice.
Caroline joined the Board in February 2021 as Non-Executive Director and is Chair of the Remuneration Committee. She has more than 25 years' global executive experience gained in the financial services sector with a background in investment management, including global markets, regulation, and risk management.
Caroline also serves as non-executive director and chair of the remuneration committees at Brewin Dolphin PLC. and Ecclesiastical Insurance Office PLC.

Chris started his career with BNY Mellon and has more than 18 years' experience working in financial services. He joined Hampden & Co in 2014 and works primarily with mortgage introducers and their clients to assist with their lending requirements and to provide a personalised banking service. Chris holds the Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice.
Clare has 23 years banking experience and started her career in 2001 with Tesco Personal Finance before joining The Royal Bank of Scotland. In 2016 she joined Handelsbanken where she helped to set up their new Dunfermline office.
Clare holds the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice. She joined Hampden & Co in 2020.
Colin started his career as a Management Consultant in roles with Accenture, Capgemini and PricewaterhouseCoopers where he delivered transformational business and technology change for a wide range of clients across different industries.
In 2010, he joined Sainsbury's Bank where he was Head of Digital Transformation, Head of Strategic Design and Head of Architecture and where he was responsible for the design of a wholly new retail banking target operating model. Colin joined Hampden & Co in 2021 and leads the bank's technology strategy and business change programmes.
David began his banking career in 1968 with Bank of Scotland and worked for Alliance & Leicester and The Co-operative Bank before joining Hampden & Co in 2016. David's particular area of expertise is helping clients to arrange commercial property finance. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
David is also a pillar of the Scottish rugby community.
David joined the Board in October 2020 as Non-Executive Director and is Chairman of the Risk Committee. A qualified Actuary, David is currently Chair of Scottish Friendly and Fidelity Life Insurance Ltd and chairs the Audit Committee at Fidelity Life Insurance (Ireland) DAC. His former corporate roles included MD of Pearl Life Ltd, CEO of Scottish Re Ltd and CEO of Swiss Re Life and Health Australia.
Finlay joined the Board in May 2020 as a non-executive director and Chairman of the Audit Committee. A qualified Chartered Account, Finlay was formerly Chief Financial Officer of Virgin Money plc and a former divisional finance director, head of internal audit, and head of mergers and acquisitions at RBS Group. Finlay was also an independent non-executive director, Chairman of the Risk & Compliance Committee, member of the Audit Committee at Paragon Bank plc, Chairman of the Risk & Compliance Committee and a member of the Audit Committee at Paragon.
George has more than 48 years experience working in banking and finance, including roles in private enterprise, public sector, charities and private banking. He spent many years with Lloyds TSB, including five years leading their Private Client business.
George is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland. He joined Hampden & Co in 2017.
Gill has more than 23 years experience helping clients to build and preserve their wealth. She joined Hampden & Co in 2022 from Adam & Company where she was Associate Director, Private Banking. Gill has a European Business Law degree from the University of Abertay and holds the Advanced Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice.

Gillian has worked in banking for more than 39 years. She started with The Royal Bank of Scotland in 1985 where she worked in their Private Banking, Corporate and Commercial businesses. Gillian joined Hampden & Co in 2018.
She holds the Advanced Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice and is an Associate of the Chartered Banker's Institute.
As General Counsel, Gordon is responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to the Board and management team. He also supports the Board and its sub-committees as Company Secretary.
Gordon studied at the University of Edinburgh where he completed a law degree and the Diploma in Legal Practice before training with Dundas & Wilson. He was admitted as a Solicitor & Notary Public by the Law Society of Scotland in 2009.
Before joining Hampden & Co in 2022, Gordon worked for Dutch-owned investment company, Aegon Asset Management, where he was responsible for all legal, regulatory and company secretarial matters in the UK.
Graeme is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Banker with over 30 years' experience in the banking industry. He was Head of Finance at Adam & Company before joining Scottish Widows Bank in 1993 as Finance & Operations Director and where he became Managing Director in 2003.
Graeme joined Hampden & Co in 2013. He was a Council member at the Chartered Banker Institute and Vice-President from 2007 to 2010.
Graeme has more than 32 years' experience in private banking having started his career in 1992 with Adam & Co. He joined Hampden & Co in 2016 and works with clients from a wide range of different backgrounds and professions. Graeme is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.

Hannah is Head of Professional Partnerships at Hampden & Co. Her role is to build relationships with the other professional service firms that advise our clients, including solicitors, accountants, wealth managers, financial advisers, family offices, property consultants and mortgage introducers.
Hannah joined Hampden & Co in 2022 after working in private banking and business development roles within both C. Hoare & Co and Coutts, where her particular focus was on serving the banking needs of entrepreneurs, international clients and philanthropists. Hannah holds the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice.
In 2021, Hannah was the winner of the Future Leaders ‘Private Banker of the Year (5-10 Years)' Gold award. In a previous career, she was a professional musician and an academic music teacher.
Ian started in banking in 1997 with RBS and has held senior roles with Adam & Co and Handelsbanken where he specialised in helping business owners, directors and other professionals. Ian joined Hampden & Co in 2020.
He holds the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice and the Diploma in Personal Financial Planning.

Jeremy began his career with NatWest in 1980 before joining Hill Samuel Bank in 1989 and in 1997, he moved to Adam & Co. Jeremy joined Hampden & Co in 2013 and as Managing Director of Banking, his role is to ensure our clients receive an exceptional service.
Jeremy is a Trustee of the St James's Conservation Trust which works to protect and improve the beautiful and historic area of St James's in the heart of London.

Joe has worked in banking for more than 16 years having started his career with Lloyds Banking Group in 2008. He joined the team at Hampden & Co in 2018 and as Associate Banking Director, he works with a range of clients, assessing their borrowing and deposit requirements to provide a tailored solution and a personalised banking experience. Joe holds the Certificate of Mortgage Advice and Practice.
John is a Banking Director based in our London office and he joined Hampden & Co in 2023. He spent more than ten years of his career with Kleinwort Hambros (formerly Kleinwort Benson) where he was a Private Banker in their Ultra High Net Worth team.
John holds the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice, the CISI Investment Advice Diploma and the CFA Investment Management Certificate. Outside of work he is a passionate sportsman and has a keen interest in music, food, travel and volunteering.
Jonathan joined Hampden & Co in 2022 from Standard Bank International where he spent more than six years as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director for the banking and wealth management businesses with responsibility for £6bn of client deposits and £2.5bn of AUM.
Previously, Jonathan has served as Head of Risk for both Standard Bank and Deutsche Bank International. He was also a Senior Manager at KPMG Forensic where he led multiple projects and investigations across the financial services sector.
Jonathan is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, having originally trained and qualified with PwC.

Kaushalya Somasundaram joined the Board of Hampden & Co as Non-executive Director in April 2023 and brings deep experience of banking, financial and digital services. Much of her executive career was at HSBC where she established their Fintech Partnerships and Strategic Innovation Investments unit. She has also served in director, consultancy and advisory roles at various leading financial services firms. Kaushalya is a chartered accountant and an MBA.
Keith has over 20 years' experience in People / HR strategy, operations and organisational change through holding senior business facing HR roles in UK and global organisations.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development and a Board member of the Fet-Lor Youth Club.
Kevin started his career with Lloyds Banking Group before moving to C. Hoare & Co where he spent more than 23 years, including 15 as a relationship manager for clients ranging from City professionals, industry leaders, estate owners and entrepreneurs to entertainers. He also looked after the banking needs of corporate clients including partnerships and LLPs, on and offshore trusts, family offices, charities and Livery companies. Kevin holds the CeMAP qualification. He joined the team at Hampden & Co in 2022.

She joined The Co-operative Bank in 2015 before joining the team at Hampden & Co in 2017. Mark's career in Private Banking started at Coutts and he spent 25 years between there and C. Hoare & Co before joining Barclays Wealth in 2008 as Head of Banking & Credit. He then joined Handelsbanken in 2016 to set up and run their office in Mayfair.
Mark has extensive experience and deep knowledge of risk and change, looking after high value clients, managing teams and building private and corporate banking businesses. He joined Hampden & Co in 2023 to lead the London private banking team.
Outside work, Mark is President (Chair) of Lewisham Plus Credit Union and he has a keen interest in food, wine, travel, skiing and shooting.
Mark leads our banking team serving clients across the UK. He has more than over 40 years experience helping clients with complex finances and specialises in helping those with commercial banking needs. Mark was formerly Head of Corporate Banking in Scotland for Lloyds Bank and joined Hampden & Co in 2017. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute.

As Intermediary Relationship Director, Martin works primarily with mortgage brokers to help tailor borrowing solutions to meet the needs of clients.
Martin has extensive knowledge of intermediation in the private banking and wealth markets. He joined Hampden & Co in 2023 from Weatherbys Private Bank where he was Senior Business Development Executive. He has also held senior roles at Barclays Bank, including Head of Key Clients - Wealth Business Development. Martin holds the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice.

Matthew has worked as a private banker for more than 18 years. He started his career in 2004 with NatWest, moving to Coutts in 2007 before joining Hampden & Co in 2018. Matthew works with a wide range of clients to deliver their personal and business banking requirements and he specialises in working with mortgage advisers to help clients arrange appropriate borrowing. He holds a BSC (Hons) in Business Management, the Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice and the Certificate in Advanced Mortgage Advice.
Matt joined Hampden & Co in 2016 and has worked in banking for six years. He is a certified member of the Chartered Banker Institute and has attained his Associate Chartered Banker Diploma. Matt was a Global Finalist in the Chartered Banker Institute's ‘Young Banker of the Year Competition 2021' and won the Hutton Prize Gold Medal in 2020.
Matt has an MA Degree in Politics from the University of Edinburgh and attained the Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice (CeMAP) with a Distinction.
Patrick has worked in banking for more than 14 years having started his career with Coutts in 2010. In 2014, he moved to C. Hoare & Co where, as a relationship manager, he worked with a wide range of clients from individuals and corporate entities to trusts and charities. Patrick joined Hampden & Co in 2023 as a Banking Director in our London office. He has a particular interest in working with business owners, supporting their unique journey, particularly as they use both their knowledge and wealth to make a positive impact on society.
Patrick studied Mathematics at the University of Exeter and holds the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice.
Peter has worked in the Retail Banking, Insurance and Building Society sectors for more than 32 years, with hands on experience in conduct, credit, market and operational risk, treasury and finance, major change programmes and business development. He started his career with TSB Bank (Scotland) before moving to Dunfermline Building Society and Nationwide Building Society. In 2012, Peter joined Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) where he held senior banking and insurance roles that covered financial risk, business risk, customer proposition and customer strategy development, before he became Chief Risk Officer of LBG's International Islands Banking business.
Peter holds the Association of Corporate Treasurers qualification and is a past winner of the Scottish Young Financial Director of the Year award. He joined Hampden & Co as Chief Risk Officer in 2022.
