Andrej Salner

Anna Theodoulides

Anna, an SGI summer 2020 intern, works on "I want to work, who can help me?" project. Her focus in this project is the labour market integration of homeless people with disability. Anna studies Politics, Sociology and East European Studies at University College London and in her studies, she is interested the most in Visegrad 4 countries, EU influence on these countries and extreme right parties and voters in Slovakia. Besides her studies she participates in a student society at her department as an engagement officer, where she manages online communication and events.

Barbora Peregrim

Barbora has started her work at the SGI Institute in June 2020 as a volunteer administrator for the project Odkaz pre starostu. Since July 2021 she leads the project as a project manager. During her studies at Comenius university in the department of Political Science, Barbora participated in activities in the area of human rights, specifically on the topics of rights of sexual minorities and the issue of gender equality. In 2016, she participated in an initiative of the Amnesty International Slovakia educational program where she co-led workshops on the topic of human rights. Since 2017, she worked as planner and coordinator in aviation, which motivated her to pursue positions in project management in the corporate sphere and later in the third sector.

Cindy Majtánová

Cindy has been involved with SGI since 2017 as an intern. She graduated from the Faculty of Arts of Trnava University in Trnava with a Bachelor's degree in the field of political science. She continues her studies at the Institute of Public Policy at Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of Comenius University in the Master's program, while she realizes her diploma thesis in Advance Healthcare Management Institute as an intern.

Ctibor Košťál


Edita Rigová

Job Titles:

During her studies of Social Work program at University of Constantine Philosopher, she worked as a social field worker with a Roma community. Later she graduated from the program of Public Administration at the University in Lausanne. She did her internships in organizations such as OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights where she worked on the topic of Roma inclusion and rights. After the fellowship program at the U.S. Congress, she has joint the SGI project Messaging Matters II.

Jakub Kmeť

Jakub Kmeť graduated in political science from Masaryk university in Brno. In particular, he focuses on research in the field of municipal politics and coalition governance, he is one of authors of the publication Koaliční vládutní ve střední Evropě (1990-2010). He participated in Masarykovy debaty, which is a project that seeks to revive civil society in Czech republic. Jakub also participate in Parkotvor, local project in Prievidza, where he and his friends try to put new strengh into city's park. In SGI he works since April 2012 in the project Odkazprestarostu.sk, Samospráva sa neriadi sama and Správni kandidáti

Jakub Petrikovič

Jakub Petrikovič has been invelvod with SGI since March 2017 as an intern. He graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Comenius University in Bratislava with a Bachelor's degree in the field of Geography, European integration and Regional development Currently he continues his studies in the same field in the Master's program. He is interested in topics of EU funds and Public Administration.

Jozef Miškolci

Jozef Miškolci earned his doctoral degree in education at the University of Sydney in Australia in 2014. Within this doctoral research he dealt with the issues of inclusive education and distributed school leadership in public primary schools in Slovakia and Australia (New South Wales). Jozef also obtained his Master's Degree in gender studies at the Central European University in Budapest in 2005 and his Bachelor's Degree in political science and international relations at the Charles University in Prague in 2004. He researches inclusive education, comparative education, educational policy and gender equality in education. Before SGI Jozef worked in the non-for-profit sector (Žába na prameni, o.s.; 2005-2007), public administration sector (Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in the Czech Republic; 2007-2010), and tertiary education sector (The University of Sydney; 2013).

Juraj Kačur

Juraj Kačur has been at SGI as a junior researcher since March 2017. He graduated from Masaryk University, Brno with Bachelor degree in Political Science and Economic Policy. He is currently a student of the Master programme in Political Science at the same university. In the past, he worked as a junior analyst at Alfa, a thinktank. He is involved in projects focused on municipalities and transparency.

Lenka Galetová

Lenka Galetová has been working for SGI project Demagog.SK since 2015, first as an intern then as a senior analyst and now she manages our factchecking initiative. She holds a Master of International Relations from Masaryk University, Brno.

Lenka Zagibová

Lenka is graduate of political science department of Comenius University in Bratislava. She is interested in topics connected to representation of minorities and their presentation in political and media discourse. She has been colaborating on project Demagog.SK since october 2014.

Lucia Kováčová

Job Titles:

Lucia works at SGI since July 2014. During her studies of Political Science and Public Policy at Comenius University in Bratislava she worked as an intern for several Slovak non-governmental organisations, such as CVEK and Milan Šimečka Foundation, where she focused mainly on minority inclusion issues. Additionally, she did an internship in the World Bank where as a research assistant participated in the project "Inclusion of Marginalized Communities in the Slovak Republic". In 2014, she received M.A. in Public Policy from Central European University in Budapest with equality and social justice specialization. In the same year, Lucia was a part of "Young Professional Development Program" of Open Society Foundations for young graduates with M.A. degrees in the social sciences and humanities. Since 2015, she has been a participant of the "FutureLab Europe" programme for young professionals who are interested in public policies at the EU level. Lucia is interested mainly in educational policies, especially in the context of inclusion of socially disadvantaged children and minority children, and in employment policies.

Lucia Mýtna Kureková

Marcela Veselková

Marcela holds a PhD in Political Science and an MA in International Relations and European Studies from Central European University in Budapest and a master-level degree in economics from the University of Economics in Bratislava. Her research interests include international monetary relations, applied economic analysis and quantitative economic history. She published in Historical Social Research, Nationalities Papers and Transition Studies Review.

Martin Kollárik

Martin earned his master´s degree from political science at Comenius University in Bratislava. He is currently doing his PhD. at the Institute of Public Policy at Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of Comenius University. His expertise is local self-government, he wrote several academic studies dealing with transparency of municipalities, independent movements in municipalities or political party groups in local parliaments. Before he joined SGI, he worked for Transparency International Slovakia and other non-governmental organizations devoted to defending human rights and fight against discrimination (Institute for intercultural dialogue, People against racism). He works for SGI since May 2015, he manages the project Odkazprestarostu.sk.

Matúš Sedlák

Job Titles:

Matúš Sedlák has worked for SGI as an analyst and an administrator of the Odkazprestarostu.sk project since May 2019. He graduated from University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava with the degree in Political Science and during his studies he spent one semester as an exchange student at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius, Lithuania where he also studied Political science. In the past Matúš worked as an analyst in international companies operating in Slovakia.

Matúš Sloboda

He has been collaborating with Slovak Governance Institute since October 2011 when he worked as an intern until January 2012. During his internship, he has worked on various projects. The main focus of his research has been on the National Integrity System - research on integrity and transparency of institutions in Slovakia. Since October 2011 he has been collaborating on Demagog.SK factchecking project. He was contributing the project as senior analyst since September 2012. Currently, he works in Demagog.SK as project manager. He graduated from Comenius University in Bratislava in 2011 with Bachelor Degree in Applied Economics and he earned Master Degree in Public Policy in 2014. He also studied Political Theory and Development Studies at Uppsala Universitet in Sweden for two semesters. He is PhD candidate at Institute of Public Policy, Comenius University in Bratislava.

Michaela Bednárik

Michaela has been involved with SGI since 2009, first as an intern and later on as a researcher and project manager. She graduated from law at the Comenius University in Bratislava, from public policy at the University of York and from international relations at the Institute of International Relations in Barcelona (within the Erasmus Mundus - Masters Program in Public Policy ) Her research interests include education and migration policy, social inclusion and rule of law. Michaela currently works in the European Parliament and cooperates with SGI on an external ad hoc basis.
