Nitroethane is used as a synthesis of controlled substances like amphetamines also used as chemical feedstock in clandestine labs. The overdose for rats is stated at 1100 mg/kg. Kids have being known to be poison by drinking nail polish remover. In animals exposure has caused narcosis, edema, liver and kidney damage, pulmonary rales, dyspnea and lacrimation.
