It will require innovation and partnerships to make it work." - Barry Long Barry is an UrbanMix Founding Partner and current President & CEO of Urban Design Associates, an international urban design, planning and architecture practice. Barry is recognized as a design leader and visionary of city planning and urban design projects across the United States. His approach is rooted in the core values of engaging residents, designing in context, and serving the working class. At Urban Mix he is responsible for forward planning, exploring opportunities that make sense for both the community and company. Barry's professional experience has ranged from leading plans for new districts to downtowns and neighborhoods, as well as Pattern Books for distinguished corporations and cities. An effective listener and artful facilitator, Barry has assisted numerous clients to negotiate the challenges of competing stakeholder aspirations to arrive at Master Plans that successfully garner broad-based community support. He has 18 years of professional experience in Northern and Central California, crafting Specific Plans and helping cities envision their future. Barry is recognized by his peers as one of the foremost national experts on the design and implementation of mixed-income housing. With more than 30 years in the real estate development industry, he has a broad range of experience and expertise in developing mixed income/mixed use projects. Keith has held senior management positions with international development companies and has established new development operations in Northern California. He is passionate about creating enduring communities and providing housing opportunities for people at all economic levels. Prior to forming UrbanMix Development, Keith co-founded Urban Community Partners in 2001 to focus on creating Smart Growth, mixed income, mixed use communities. As a Co-Developer and Partner, he successfully directed the entitlements for East Garrison, a $500+ million, 244-acre, 1,400-home, mixed use, public/private partnership on the former Fort Ord Army Base in Monterey County, CA (now under construction). Keith recently obtained the entitlements for a 15-acre, 400-unit senior-oriented, mixed use town center with 30,000 sf of retail space in Foster City, CA; a 16-unit senior-oriented "Pocket Neighborhood" in Novato, CA; and is currently working on a 7-acre mixed use, mixed income, public/private partnership in Santa Rosa, CA. Facilitating their intelligent growth by making them greener, more affordable, more diverse and accessible places to live, can move the needle in global sustainability."- Scott Ward Scott is a Founding Partner of UrbanMix Development LLC, a licensed architect and a real estate investment and development professional with over 25 years of broad-based experience acting as development executive and/or owner's representative for various entities. Scott has focused his career on revitalizing underutilized buildings and blighted urban land and he continues to be humbled by the positive impact these projects have on their surrounding communities. Scott is passionate about architecture, creating great places, and the power of real estate development to move the world in a positive direction. Prior to founding UrbanMix Development, Scott led the effort to complete the redevelopment of the historic Hamilton Air Force Base in Novato, CA into a new mixed use neighborhood. Scott was also a Real Estate Development Manager for the Presidio Trust. During this time, he directly managed the development of approximately $50 million in new projects and negotiated purchase and sale agreements and development agreements for an additional $200 million of work. Scott also completed over two million square feet of new and adaptive reuse construction while practicing architecture from 1992-2001, with notable local projects including the San Francisco Ferry Building and Pier One San Francisco.
