Adrian Huckin

Adrian is a graduate of the University of York and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing. Adrian joined Melin in September 2020 having previously worked both in the public and housing association sectors. His career spans a total of 38 years and includes senior management roles with Newport and Torfaen Councils and Bron Afon Community Housing. A Company Director of Y Prentis, he is passionate about service excellence, equality of opportunity and making a difference to peoples lives.

Beth Ruth McPherson

Job Titles:
  • Head of Service Communities and Renewal
Having graduated from Plymouth University in 2001, Beth has since pursued a career in Regeneration, initially working within a local development trust to implement and deliver the Communities First programme. In 2007 she joined Blaenau Gwent CBC working in and leading a diverse range of teams within the Regeneration and Community Services directorate, including town centre management, physical regeneration, economic development, employment, skills, social value and housing strategy. Beth has spent time at Monmouthshire Council, establishing a new Strategic Operations Team within the Enterprise Directorate, before a move to Torfaen Council in October 2022 as their Head of Service - Communities and Renewal.

Danny Thomas

Job Titles:
  • Apprenticeship Coordinator
Danny is a qualified assessor with a ONC and HNC in Building Studies and over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Danny's construction background consists of being a CITB apprenticeship officer for 20 years and a part time lecturer in Bricklaying studies at Coleg Gwent where he has focused on the training aspect of supporting, mentoring and training apprentices in various trades. Danny is our first point of contact for all our apprentices regarding their framework process. He carries out regular progress evaluation updates to ensure our apprentices are meeting their NVQ and Diploma requirements and are progressing through their apprenticeship.

Darryl Williams

Job Titles:
  • Programme Manager
Darryl has more than 25 years' experience in the construction industry as a business, training and apprenticeship manager. He is responsible for the overall management of the programme and works closely with our partner clients, contractors and stakeholders to ensure Y Prentis is strategically placed to respond to present and future challenges. Darryl creates new and develops existing relationships with key industry agencies, training providers and Welsh Government to ensure Y Prentis continues to provide long term, sustainable employment opportunities to support the future employment demand within the industry.

Hannah Jones

Job Titles:
  • Youth Enterprise Manager at Monmouthshire County Council
Hannah Jones joined the Board in December 2019, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge from over 20 years' working at Monmouthshire County Council. She started working with Monmouthshire County Council's Youth Service as a part-time coordinator for the young people's centre in Chepstow, the first of its kind in Monmouthshire, before taking the lead in developing three more centres in Monmouth, Caldicot and Abergavenny and supporting a team of youth workers. She then went on to work with the Youth Service, leading post 16 projects which focused on developing training and employment opportunities for young people who are NEET (not in education, employment or training). Today, Hannah is the Youth Enterprise Manager at Monmouthshire County Council, driving the skills and employability agenda forward for the local authority.

Holly Gunn

Job Titles:
  • Business Support Administrator
Holly helps to assist in the delivery and development of the shared apprenticeship scheme by providing an administrative, employment and marketing support to the delivery team and apprentices engaged on the apprenticeship program.

Isabel Harris

Job Titles:
  • Finance & Employment Assistant
Isabel deals with enquires from both apprentices and contractors on a daily basis and provides ongoing support to the team to ensure the smooth running of the scheme. She also supports our apprentices by looking after the payroll process and offering advice and guidance where necessary.

Julie Donoghue

Job Titles:
  • Apprenticeship Coordinator
Julie has worked in work based learning for 22 years, initially as a trainer, assessor / verifier, before focussing on Health & Safety, quality assurance, and external compliance auditing. She joined CITB as an apprenticeship officer, working with colleges and Construction apprenticeship trades, supporting employers and mentoring apprentices for 14 years. Julie will be supporting our apprentices and carrying out regular progress evaluation updates to ensure our apprentices are meeting their qualification requirements and are progressing through their apprenticeship.

Lyndon Griffiths

Job Titles:
  • Land Director for Candleston Homes ( Subsidiary of Melin Homes )
Lyndon is responsible for acquisition of new land opportunities, key client relationship management with both Private and Public Sector, networking with the wider professional development sector and co-ordination of landbids. He has been the lead officer on strategic developments such as Crick Road, Grove Farm and Coed Glas. Lyndon has previously held senior positions in both the Housing Association sector and also with large private construction developers. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Candleston in relation to liaison with Welsh Government, Local Authorities and the construction industry for the delivery of both private and affordable housing across many counties of operation. In his previous roles he has been responsible for co-ordinating new business opportunities, including land bids, securing S106 opportunities, package deals, PQQ/ITT bid submissions and marketing of the business.

Mark Doubler

Job Titles:
  • Head of Community and Customer Services, Bron Afon Community Housing
Mark is a collaborative and empowering leader with experience in commercial banking, local authority and social housing settings. In his role at Bron Afon he has responsibility for all front line housing, customer service and support functions, together with the estate management and sustainability teams. Mark is passionate about sustainability issues and an advocate for maximising social impact.

Natalie Hawkins

Job Titles:
  • Social Value Manager
After leaving a 20-year career in Retail Management, Natalie has worked in Cardiff Council and social housing, initially managing employability projects, and offering one to one mentoring support to people 16+ and from diverse backgrounds. Over 10 years this progressed to encompass the embedding and management of community benefits and targeted recruitment and training in contracts, in the business. Natalie joined Linc Cymru in January 2022 as the Social Value Manager within the Development directorate and is responsible for improving the economic, social, environmental, and cultural wellbeing of tenants, residents, and communities. Delivering maximum social return on all investments, building sustainable communities, maximising opportunities, and contributing to the growth programme through community benefits.

Nicola Murray

Job Titles:

Nicola has vast experience working with apprentices in the construction industry. She works closely with construction contractors, enabling the team to move apprentices around different locations to give them quality and quantity of work for professional achievement and to complete their qualifications. She maintains good working relationships with site managers, training providers and the apprentices to ensure programme is easy to access at all times.
