CATHRIN WIRTZ

Born in Germany's Lower Rhine Region, Cathrin was trained as an editor of literary fiction in Berlin after receiving a Master's Degree in German and English Literature and Film/TV/Theatre Studies from the University of Cologne. After internships in literary scouting agencies, she began working with Liz Gately in 2011. She oversees the YA/Children's book department, covers the German language market, and also scouts fiction for both foreign publishers and film clients.

CELESTE CRAWFORD

Prior to joining CTL, Celeste Crawford worked as a film/TV book scout for the production and management company Sugar23. She began her career in literary acquisitions at Apple TV+. She is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, and is based in Brooklyn.

Claire Lundberg

Claire Lundberg founded CTL Scouting in Paris in 2011, after working for 10 years in New York film and theater. Current clients include: Working Title Films (BABY DRIVER, BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY), A24 Studios (LADYBIRD, MOONLIGHT, MIDSOMMAR), Sony Pictures Television (BREAKING BAD, THE GOOD DOCTOR), HBO Drama Series (GAME OF THRONES, SUCCESSION) and several other US and international film and television companies. Previously, Claire worked as a development executive for Scott Rudin, and ran MGM's New York literary office. She began her career in theater, as a director and producer. She holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama, and a BA in English from Yale College.

Eve Gleichman

Eve Gleichman began scouting adult fiction and non-fiction with Liz Gately Book Scouting in 2015, shortly after graduating from Brooklyn College's fiction MFA program. They're based in NYC and scout for both film clients and publishers around the world. Their own co-written debut novel, The Very Nice Box, published in July 2021.

Hunter Simpson

Hunter Simpson is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and now lives in Copenhagen. He studied English Literature at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and has over ten years experience as a book scout, first at Barbara Tolley and Associates and then at Liz Gately Book Scouting. At CTL he reads English language fiction and nonfiction and also covers Scandinavian markets. Additionally, he has managed an English-language bookshop in Rome and works as a literary translator of Danish to English. His translation of Stine Pilgaard's The Land of Short Sentences was awarded the Leif and Inger Sjöberg Prize by the American-Scandinavian Foundation.

LIZ GATELY

Job Titles:

Liz Gately runs our New York office, and also scouts for 14 international publishers, which she's been doing since 2010. She began her scouting career working for Barbara Tolley & Associates. Prior to scouting she worked as an assistant for book agent Kathleen Anderson, for the Gersh Agency's New York office, and for director and producer Lee Daniels. She's from Rhode Island.

MEGHAN WAITZER

Meghan Waitzer joined CTL Scouting in 2022 and is a Scout in the LA office. She formerly worked at Tomorrow Studios, an independent TV studio known for producing SNOWPIERCER, PHYSICAL, and LET THE RIGHT ONE IN, where she was a Manager of Development and worked to acquire and develop IP. She graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in Film Studies & Economics and is originally from Toronto, Canada.

Nadja Shannon-Dabek

Nadja joined CTL Scouting in 2022, after completing an MA in Children's Literature at Goldsmiths, University of London. Previously, she worked as an elementary school teacher and as an intern with the Wexler Oral History Project at the Yiddish Book Center. She also holds a degree in English Literature and Religion from Wesleyan University. Now based in London, she helps with UK and international scouting as well as assisting Claire Lundberg.

Pippa Spindel

Pippa Spindel joined CTL Scouting / ROC Literary in 2021 as the assistant for the LA Office. She previously interned for Tomorrow Studios (where she read up a storm) after graduating from UCLA with a degree in Cognitive Science (where she famously didn't do a single reading). Her favorite genres are memoir and personal essay.

ROBBY O'CONNOR

Robby O'Connor runs our Los Angeles office. He began his scouting career at Paramount Pictures' New York Literary Affairs Office and then moved into development at Dimension Films. Prior to scouting he worked in the Film Rights department at Curtis Brown. He's a native New Yorker who swears he'll never go back.

SOFIA RIOS-DOMINGUEZ

Sofia Rios-Dominguez joined CTL Scouting's LA office in 2021 after graduating from USC's School of Cinematic Arts with a degree in Cinema and Media Studies. She previously worked as a development intern at Captivate Entertainment and as a freelance reader for Amazon Studios. When not working, Sofia can be found at either Skylight Books or the nearest AMC, getting her money's worth out of her A-List membership (she also may or may not have Nicole Kidman's pre-show spiel memorized). Her favorite genres are horror and literary fiction.
