Andrew Murray

Andrew joined TODD's in 2001, became a director in 2013, with his abilities and commitment to the practice being recognised in his accepting an equity shareholding in 2019. Andrew works across the public and private sectors. Healthcare is his focus in the former, where having been involved in redevelopment projects within the Ulster and Antrim Area Hospitals, he then led the design and delivery of the Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex, a project that established a new healthcare model in the UK and has been recognised in national and international award programmes. Andrew is also now leading the practice's drive into the G.B. healthcare market. Within the private sector Andrew has delivered Grade A office developments across the UK, and over recent years has become increasingly engaged in major residential led mixed-use developments, focused on the Build to Rent market. Andrew is a talented designer, who carries an acute appreciation of the benefits good design can bring to both public and private sector clients. He leads the practice's design review process, ensuring that design quality, upon which the practice established its reputation, is maintained across all its commissions. Andrew has become increasingly involved in business development and marketing, where he led the design of the practice's website and fronts its use of social media.

Andrew O'Doherty

Andrew's early career was spent with White Ink Architects, working on large luxury residential schemes across London. Andrew joined TODD Architect's in 2018, after qualifying as an architect, and having an interest in interior design through a separate course and qualification. Andrew also worked in New York for BHC Architects, whilst participating in Habitat for Humanity in Alabama following Hurricane Katrina. During his time with the practice, he has successfully designed and delivered critically acclaimed workplace and fit-out schemes across the UK and Ireland. His clients and end users include those within the banking sector, Danske and AIB, in the legal profession Allen and Ovary, Herbert Smith Freehills and Technology sector, Arm and Microsoft. As well as being the lead architect on the Shankill Shared Women's Centre. In recognition of his skills and commitment to the practice, Andrew was promoted to Associate in early 2023 and helps to lead the Interior Architecture Team alongside Peter Moran. Outside the practice, Andrew sits on the RSUA Council, and extends his Associate position into researching emerging trends in workplace design and interior architecture.

Andrew Speer

Andrew joined TODD's in 1989, having trained as one of the UK's leading architectural schools, the Bartlett in London. He is now the practice longest serving architect! Andrew was introduced into the healthcare sector early on in his time in the practice, being part of the team that won the Childrens Hospital complex at the RVH, and he has remained in the field ever since. His completed portfolio of buildings is extraordinary in extending across every aspect of primary and acute care, but with a specialisation in the latter and the design of A&E, ward blocks and theatres, being particular specialisations. Andrew's expertise centres around health planning. He leads the healthcare team's engagement with user groups / other stakeholders, develops briefs / interprets models of healthcare, produces relationship diagrams and tests solutions against HTM recommendations. He also retains a management responsibility for planning out departments in detail, and with his team, preparing room layouts and elevations from room data sheets, utilising ADB software. Andrew's abilities and experience also extend into technical design and delivery where he has experience with a range of differing construction methodologies and procurement routes.

Bobby Moore

Bobby's early career was spent with BDP, where he gained invaluable experience in working within multi-disciplinary teams on award winning schemes across the private and public sectors. Bobby joined TODD's in 2012, with his contribution to the practice being recognised in his promotion to Associate in 2018. During his time with the practice, Bobby has become increasingly focused on the education sector. He now leads a team of professional and technical staff designing and delivering primary and secondary schools across Northern Ireland, Ireland and GB. He carries an acute appreciation of the differing design guidelines and statutory requirements of each jurisdiction, and has developed an appreciation of emerging trends in the sector, including the growing importance of sustainability low energy design and modular construction. Bobby manages his internal teams / external design teams and administers contracts in a calm, but confident manner, informed by over 13 years in the profession.

Daragh Coleman

Daragh has been with TODD's since leaving University some twenty years ago, and in 2019 became an equity director in the practice, recognising the extraordinary contribution he has made to the business. Daragh has designed and delivered some of the practices most critically acclaimed projects, notably including the multi-award winning Public Record Office of Northern Ireland and the globally recognised Titanic Belfast, both within Titanic Quarter, where he is also currently completing the Olympic House office development. His design abilities are perhaps most directly evidenced in the number of competition winning entries he has led, which in recent years have included successful submissions for both the Western and Belfast Health & Social Care Trusts frameworks. Daragh's expertise also extends into detail design and delivery, where he now regularly leads project teams on some of the practice's largest and most complex Design and Build contracts, including the £250m residential led mixed use development for developer Ballymore at Goodluck Hope in East London. Daragh's directorial responsibilities extend to include the challenging aspect overseeing of resource management, where he led the introduction of a new practice team structure and Associate reporting mechanism, an increased efficiency to the way in which the practice delivers its service for clients.

Gonzalo joined TODD Architects in early 2022 as Head of Healthcare, a sign of our continued commitment to producing leading edge, award-worthy healthcare designs of lasting social value. Based in our London studio, Gonzalo is responsible for supporting the practice's established and experienced studios located across the UK and Ireland in delivering a growing portfolio of healthcare projects. With over 20 years experience and an MSc in Planning Buildings for Health, Gonzalo has a proven record in the design and delivery of many different types and sizes of healthcare facilities across the UK and Europe. Gonzalo spent his formative years studying architecture and urbanism in Peru before relocating to the UK in 2002 where he began specialising in the healthcare sector at Nightingale Associates (now IBI) in Oxfordshire.

Jim joined the practice as an Associate in 2015 and within four years he was introduced as an equity director in recognition of his diverse abilities and contribution that he was making to the continued growth and development of the practice. During the formative years of his career with respected local practice Kennedy Fitzgerald Architects he developed his design skills working on and leading the design of multi-award winning sports and leisure projects. Jim now carries an expertise in the design of swimming, leisure and hydro pools, sauna, steam and wellbeing design, along with the technical design of courts and external pitches. During this time he also worked across a range of sectors including health, community, ecclesiastical, conservation and education. As the TODD Architect's education team lead, Jim oversees the design and delivery of multiple projects across the UK and Ireland. He is currently completing a two year research project in partnership with Queen's University Belfast, KTP and Innovate UK which is focused on shared space and education design. In addition to this, Jim leads a diverse range of projects for the private sector Clients which include Grade A office, boutique Hotel, multi-unit residential and BtR, PBSA, industrial and adaptive re-use/conservation projects. He combines design flair with an in-depth knowledge of sustainable design, conservation and adaptive re-use, construction and MMC technologies to propose design solutions which are holistic, innovative and respond appropriately to client and user requirements, context and climate. Jim's directorial responsibilities extend to developing the company's response to climate change and leading the practice's Dublin office, where he has been involved in its expansion over the past numbers of years. His specific project engagements include the Royal Irish Academy of Music and 500 unit BtR development in south Dublin. Outside of the practice Jim sits on the RSUA Procurement and Conservation committees and he has been an invited design critic and guest lecturer to undergraduate students at University of Ulster and Queen's University Belfast.

John Palmer

John is one of the practice's most experienced architects, joining TODD's Dublin office in …, after having spent much of his career running his own practice. This exposed him to all aspects of the ‘business' of architecture and he has brought invaluable experience and understanding in how buildings are ‘put together' and successfully delivered. During his time with the practice John in his Associate role, has managed a team of architects and technicians, looking after a very broad range of new build and refurbishment projects across differing sectors, including residential, healthcare, education, commercial and custodial. He is presently leading the delivery team on the complex reconfiguration and extension of the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin city centre. John has developed a particular interest in sustainable design, including Passivhaus standards and green building technologies.
