The Bridge Christian Fellowship was founded in 1911 as Temple Fortune Gospel Hall at a time when most of the surrounding area was Fields belonging to Decoy Farm. For many years it was run as an Open Brethren Assembly known as Bridge Lane Chapel, but when the congregation began to dwindle during the 1990's Tony Pearce was asked to lead it. Since that time the fellowship has changed in many ways and we are pleased to see a number of younger people joining us. However we remain committed to the idea of a local self governing meeting of Christians who believe the Bible to be the Word of God. Tony Pearce once worked as a school teacher in the area, working at Hendon School and Hasmonean Boys' School. He and his wife Barbara have long associations with the area... The fellowship is open to all who wish to come. We believe the Bible is relevant to today's troubled world and gives us the only hope for the future as we look for the return of the Lord Jesus the Messiah who died for us and rose..
