Emmanuel Benami

Emmanuel joined Chambers after completing his pupillage with Mr. Danny Marash SC, Mr. Robin Egerton, and Mr. Kamlesh Sadhwani. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong and practices as a barrister in Hong Kong since 2018. Building a wide-ranging practice, Emmanuel has an emphasis on matrimonial and family law. In the Family Court, under the supervision of his pupil masters, he has gained experience in contested financial ancillary relief and children related matters, injunctions (on an urgent basis), custody and relocation disputes, preliminary matters as well as family related company and trust cases. Emmanuel is a contributor of Duxbury Etc, a Practical Guide to Hong Kong Family Law and Courts. Emmanuel also has experience in other areas of legal practice, with an emphasis on commercial disputes, company law, land law, employment and personal injuries. Prior to practicing as a barrister, Emmanuel specialised in multidisciplinary negotiations, cross-border structuring, and regulatory frameworks ranging from private equity to medical devices and biotechnology. Emmanuel acts both as sole legal counsel and led junior in hearings and trials ranging from magistracies, District Courts, High Court to the Court of Appeal. He undertakes a wide range of advisory work, including legal advice and written submissions and opinions. Emmanuel is developing a broad civil practice and accepts instructions in all areas of work. He is fluent in English and Hebrew.

John Marray

John was called to the Bar (Gray's Inn) in 1980. He practised in the United Kingdom and served in the Army Legal Corps as captain and was stationed in Germany. He was then called to the Hong Kong Bar in 1985 and has been practising in Hong Kong since. John specialises in criminal cases. John has appeared in many high profiled court cases for both prosecution and defence, both at trial and on appeal. He has also appeared in landmark commercial crime cases for many years. He is a part time lecturer at the University of Hong Kong and was a lecturer at the City University.
