Amber Reynolds

Amber Reynolds (& Whiskey), Veterinary Assistant - Amber joined the BRAC family as a full-time associate in July of 2023. Pictured here with one of her dogs (Whiskey). A resident of Lexington, Amber also has Great Danes, a Border Collie, goats, chickens and cattle. Amber is currently working on obtaining her AAS degree in Veterinary Technology.

Chloe Johnson

Chloe Johnson, Veterinary Assistant - Chloe became part of the BRAC family as a part-time associate in August of 2023. Chloe has an affinity for all animals; and spends her non-BRAC time working at the Virginia Safari Park. Although having grown up in Roanoke, she has settled in our area with her dog, Ace a Malinois/Anatolian Shepherd/Lab mix.

Dr. Allen Strecker

Dr. Allen Strecker - Dr. Allen Strecker, a native of Rockbridge County, graduated from Virginia Tech in 1978 with a BS degree in Animal Science and received his DVM degree from Auburn University in 1982. Following graduation, Dr. Strecker was employed as a mixed- animal veterinarian at Harrogate Hospital for Animals in Harrogate, Tennessee- a seven veterinarian mixed animal practice with two hospitals located in Tennessee and one hospital located in Jonesville, Virginia. In 1985, he returned to Lexington to establish Blue Ridge Animal Clinic. Dr. Strecker's primary duties involve large animal medicine and surgery, with special emphasis in the field of assisted reproduction. He is certified in embryo transfer by the American Embryo Transfer Association. Dr. Strecker is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Bovine Practitioners, and the Society of Theriogenology. Dr. Strecker and his wife, Kristen, have four sons; Luke, Bobby, Will, and Markus. They reside in Rockbridge Baths where they own and operate Cedar Springs Farm.

Dr. Ashley Spencer

Dr. Ashley Spencer - Dr. Ashley Spencer graduated from Virginia Tech in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. ​Dr. Spencer joined Blue Ridge Animal Clinic in 2014. She enjoys the diversity of mixed animal practice from individualized care for pets to herd health. ​She is a member of both the American and Virginia Veterinary Medical Associations. She has served on the officer team of the Blue Ridge Veterinary Medical Association since 2016.​ Dr. Spencer is a Rockbridge County native. She was active in the Rockbridge 4-H Livestock program showing cattle, sheep, and hogs. She grew up on a beef cattle farm and continues to play a role in its operation. When she's away from the clinic, she can often be found working alongside her Dad on the farm.​

Dr. Bob Murdock

Dr. Bob Murdock - Dr. Murdock completed his bachelor's degree at Johns Hopkins University in 1989 and graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. He worked in mixed-animal practice in Connecticut and Massachusetts before moving to Lexington in 2005. He joined BRAC as a staff small-animal veterinarian in 2009 after several years of providing relief veterinary services there and at other Valley veterinary hospitals. He is a member of the American and Blue Ridge Veterinary Medical Associations and the Society of Phi Zeta.​ ​Dr. Bob lives in Rockbridge County with his wife, kids and pets.​

Dr. Keagan Clevenger

Dr. Keagan Clevenger - Dr. Keagan Clevenger is originally from Stephenson, Virginia. He attended Virginia Tech and received a B.S. degree in Animal & Poultry Sciences in 2015. He then studied at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2019. Dr. Clevenger joined Blue Ridge Animal Clinic in May, 2019. He enjoys working and building relationships with farmers and their livestock. He has a special interest in advanced reproductive technologies and services. He is excited to be performing reproductive services such as embryo collections and transfers in cattle, sheep, and goat s. He is a member of both the American and Virginia Veterinary Medical Associations. He is also a member of the American Embryo Transfer Association, American Association of Bovine Practitioners, and the Society of Theriogenology. Growing up on a small family beef farm, Dr. Clevenger was very involved in 4-H and FFA. He showed cattle, sheep, and hogs on county, state, and national levels and was highly competitive in livestock judging. He currently has a small herd of cattle, where he raises purebred and crossbred show cattle for 4-H and FFA members. Dr. Keagan Clevenger is married to Dr. Katie Clevenger, another veterinarian at Blue Ridge Animal Clinic.

Dr. Lindsey Fenster

Dr. Lindsey Fenster - Dr. Lindsey Fenster grew up on a family beef cattle operation just north of Buchanan, VA. She attended the University of Georgia and received a BS in Animal Science in 2019. She then stayed at the University of Georgia to receive her DVM in 2023. Dr. Fenster has shadowed at Blue Ridge Animal Clinic for years before officially joining the clinic in 2023. Dr. Fenster practices both large and small animal veterinary medicine and loves building genuine relationships with clients and their animals. Her professional interests include challenging internal medicine cases and bovine herd health. Dr. Fenster is a member of both the American and Virginia Veterinary Medical Associations as well as the American Association of Bovine Practitioners. She was active in Rockbridge County 4H programs and very much enjoyed showing and judging livestock. She is thrilled to be back in the area and can often be found working on her family farm where she raises beef cattle and meat goats. When there's free time, Dr. Fenster enjoys cooking, spending time and traveling locally with her pug, Stevie, and kayaking the James River.

Haley Austin

Haley Austin, LVT - Haley joined the team at Blue Ridge Animal Clinic in June 2018 shortly after graduating from Blue Ridge Community College where she earned her AAS in Veterinary Technology. Haley can be found working with both large and small animals at the clinic, but she has developed a particular interest in surgery and anesthesia. Haley is from Buchanan, Virginia. She lives on a farm with both sheep and beef cattle and also has several dogs and cats at home.

Isabelle Huger

Isabelle Huger - Kennel Technician Isabelle joined BRAC in 2023 and is our full-time Kennel Technician. Isabelle is currently enrolled in the Vet Tech program at Blue Ridge Community College. Isabelle provides additional help to the Vets and Techs which helps her to expand her skill base and knowledge.

Jade Conner

Jade has been on the team at Blue Ridge Animal Clinic since 2016. She initially began as a Kennel Assistant and has transitioned to Veterinary Assistant. She is currently working on furthering her education in order to become a licensed veterinary technician. Helping sick and injured animals is the most fulfilling part of Jade's work in the veterinary field. ​ Jade is from Lexington, Virginia. In her spare time, she enjoys working with the cattle on her family's farm.​

Jordan Taylor

Jordan Taylor, LVT - Jordan joined Blue Ridge Animal Clinic in 2014 beginning her career as a veterinary assistant. She continued working at the clinic during her education to become a licensed veterinary technician. She graduated from Blue Ridge Community College with her AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2016. Jordan has a special interest in both surgery and anesthesia. ​Jordan is from Bath County, Virginia. She enjoys spending time with her family, as well as riding her horses in her time away from the clinic.

Mikayla Woodzell

Mikayla Woodzell, Veterinary Assistant - Mikayla joined Blue Ridge Animal Clinic as a Veterinary Assistant in 2015. She enjoys equine medicine. She also finds assisting animals in their recovery from injuries and illnesses to be particularly rewarding. ​Mikayla is from Bath County, Virginia and currently resides there with her 4 horses, 3 dogs, and 1 cat.

Nell Smith

Nell Smith, LVT - Nell graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 1981 with her AAS in Veterinary Technology. She worked at various practices in the Shenandoah Valley prior to bringing her experience in the field to Blue Ridge Animal Clinic in 2006. Nell enjoys the being a part of the interaction between owners and their beloved pets. Nell lives in Lexington and has two children, Kaitlin and Zev.
