Alexis Garatti

Alexis Garatti holds a PHD in macroeconomics with a focus on "macroeconomic shocks and monetary unions". He started as an economist in Natixis' Research Department, working three years in Paris and two years in London. He first covered the UK and European Nordic economies and then focused on the US and Euro zone. He published "Why England lost", a book analyzing the UK's economic decline. In 2009, he joined Citic securities in Hong Kong as a Senior Global Macroeconomist and worked for Haitong Securities International, with a growing focus on China and Asia Pacific. He joined Taikang Asset Management in January 2015 as the Head of Global Economic Research, providing multi - asset analysis and strategic calls for a portfolio of gobal equity. He finally joined Euler Hermes as Head of Macroeconomics in October 2017.

Berrin Benli - Founder

She has BSc degree of Computer Engineering from METU (Middle East Technical University) in 1986; she has been student of University of Phoenix, Arizona (Exec.MBA, Global Management Program) in 2005. She is the founder of "NOVUSENS - Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute" which is the 1st "Think Tank" organization of Turkey specialized in Science, Technology and Innovatipon is independent and for-profit that delivers professional services on innovation and entrepreneurship to foster "sustainable development". Berrin has established "Big Data Institute" of NOVUSENS in 2013 and "Smart City Institute" of NOVUSENS in 2014 to support ICT Innovation field. She is also the co-founder of "IDE Consulting" which delivers professional ICT services on high-tech industries. As a professional ICT expert she uniquely combines her broad experience of enterprise industry with the knowledge of business management, technology adoption, innovation, and education to develop and deliver effective management and learning experiences both at local country and global platforms. She has over 30 years of business experience in ICT industry carrying both business and technical management roles in the fast pace MNCs (likle Oracle Corp, Intel Corp.) and local giant system integrators and software development companies. During her 12 years of tenure with Oracle Corporation, she held various Executive Management roles both at Regional levels (Europe, Middle East & Africa) covering 35 countries, and Global levels (US, EMEA, APAC). In year 2000, she was recognized by the Turkish IT media as the first international woman executive of Turkey- appointed by e-Europe Middle East Africa Region in IT Business Industry. When she was leading Innovation Centre of Intel in Turkey, she led successful large scale longer-term concept projects that (technological and business new usage models). Benli is the curator of "TEDxAnkaraCitadel" event which was the first TEDx event in Ankara. She organized "TEDxAnkaraCitadel" event on 2013, 2014, 2016,2017 and 2018. Benli is a strong TED and TEDx conferences fan. She is the Board Members of TBV (Turkish Informatics Foundation) and Gökyay Science and Chess Foundation.

Bruce Jones

Bruce Jones is the vice president and director of the Foreign Policy program at Brookings and a senior fellow in the Institution's Project on International Order and Strategy at Brookings. Jones' research expertise and policy experience is in international security. His most recent book on the topic is "Still Ours to Lead: America, Rising Powers, and the Tension between Rivalry and Restraint" (Brookings Institution Press, 2014). He served in the United Nations' operation in Kosovo, and was special assistant to the U.N. special coordinator for the Middle East peace process. He holds a doctorate from the London School of Economics, and he was the Hamburg fellow in conflict prevention at Stanford University.

Cem Gürdeniz

Admiral Cem Gurdeniz graduated from Turkish Naval Academy in 1979. As a deck officer he served in different in destroyers and frigates. He assumed the Command of guided missile frigate TCG Gaziantep in 1998 and Third Destroyer Division in 2002. He completed his educations in Turkish Naval War College and Armed Forces College in 1989 and 2002 respectively. He holds two masters degrees from US Naval Postgraduate School and Université Libre Brussels (ULB) in personnel management and international politics. He was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral (lower half) in 2004 and upper half in 2008. He served as the Chief of Strategy Department and then the head of Plans and Policy Division in Turkish Naval Forces Headquarters. As his flag combat duties, he has served as the commander of Amphibious Ships Group and Mine Fleet between 2007 and 2009. He retired in 2012. He founded Istanbul Koç University Maritime Forum in 2015. He still serves as the Director of Maritime Forum. He is columnist in a daily newspaper on maritime issues and writer of 8 books related with maritime strategy, maritime history and maritime culture.

Emre Hatem

Erol Bilecik

Erol Bilecik was born in 1962 in Antakya. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering in 1987 as one of the first computer engineers in Turkey. In 1989, he founded İndeks Bilgisayar A.Ş. and it has been offering the products of more than 200 global brands to individual and business consumers in Turkey through more than 8,000 business partner channels. Through 2002-2005, Mr. Bilecik had been the President of TÜBİSAD (Turkish Informatics Industry Association) which is one of the oldest NGOs in Turkish IT sector. Also through 2010-2014 he had been the President of İTÜ Graduates Association. For his donations and continuous contributions on education, he was rewarded with Outstanding Service and Honor Award of The Great National Assembly of Turkey on 15th July 2010. Erol Bilecik was elected as the President of TÜSİAD during the ordinary general assembly of the association on 12 January 2017.

Fernando Tomas

Since joining Idom in 2001, Fernando has developed his professional career in the Telecommunications Area. He is currently responsible for the Idom Group of Smart City Experts. Certified from the Project Management Institute, he has carried out the role of project director/manager on many telecommunication and tele-control and data acquisition projects. László Pintér

László Pintér is Professor and Head of Department at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy at the Central European University (CEU) in Hungary. He is also Senior Fellow and former Director of the Measurement and Assessment program at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) in Canada. László has been working on sustainable development indicators and strategies, integrated assessments, sustainability reporting and global outlooks for over two decades, firmly grounded in the belief that a systemic transition and transformation around the notion of sustainability and resilience is urgently needed. He contributed to the negotiation of the sustainable development goals and conducts research on their implementation. He also works, among others, on the integrated assessment of climate risk to large scale infrastructure development, urban transformations through naturebased solutions and the development of a global multi university program in sustainability. He works worldwide and regularly consults for a wide range of multilateral organizations, companies, NGOs and governments. Dr. Pintér has a PhD from the University of Minnesota in the United States, a Masters in Natural Resources Management from the University of Manitoba in Canada and a Master of Science in Agronomy from St Stephen's University in Hungary.

Marcus Ross Manning

Mr. Mehmet Şencan

Born in Adapazarı in 1964. Mr. Mehmet Şencan graduated from Management Engineering Department of İstanbul Technical University. He began his career at İşbank as an Officer at Galata Branch in 1988 and joined the Board of Inspectors as an Assistant Inspector in 1989. He was appointed to Bursa Branch as an Assistant Manager in 1997. Mr. Şencan served as the Manager of Antakya, Gebze, Denizli and Bursa Branches, and was appointed as the Manager of Bursa Corporate Branch in 2011 and Başkent Corporate Branch in 2016. Mr. Şencan was appointed as Deputy Chief Executive on 27 April 2017.

Mr. William Chui

Mr. William Chui is the Regional Director, Europe of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The HKTDC is Hong Kong's statutory organisation responsible for promoting and developing the city's external trade. Mr. Chui supervises the HKTDC's thirteen offices in Europe, Central Asia and Israel (Almaty, Barcelona, Budapest, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Milan, Moscow, Paris, Prague, Tel Aviv, Stockholm and Warsaw). Mr. Chui has acquired extensive experience in overseas markets during his previous postings to three of the HKTDC's regional headquarters: He was actively involved in the HKTDC's efforts to open up the newly reunified German market for Hong Kong products and services. During the transition of Hong Kong from a British Colony to a Special Administrative Region of China, Mr. Chui was Director of New York Office, overseeing the Americas market. Later, he headed the HKTDC's Dubai Office to develop the emerging markets in the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Chui directed the Product Promotion, Service Promotion, and International & Mainland Relations departments respectively before his appointment as Regional Director, Europe in November 2016. Mr. Chui has an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, a BSSc (Hons) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a Higher Diploma in Marketing from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Mr. Chui is married with one daughter.

Mukhtar Hussain

Mukhtar Hussain is a Group General Manager of HSBC and is Head of Belt and Road Initiative based in Hong Kong. In this role, he is responsible for spearheading one of HSBC's most important strategic initiatives. He will be responsible for driving the dialogue on BRI with key clients and counterparts for HSBC Group. Mukhtar has spent his entire career at HSBC (36 years) joining the Bank in London in 1982 as a graduate trainee. He spent 13 years in the City of London before being invited to establish the wholesale banking platform for HSBC in the Middle East in 1993. He was extensively involved across the Middle East and responsible for helping HSBC establish Saudi Arabia's first investment banking platform. He served as Deputy Chairman of HSBC Middle East. In 2006, he returned to London to Co-Head Global Banking and was then asked to restructure the Private Equity business of HSBC into the current Principal Investments unit. In 2009, Mukhtar was appointed Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Malaysia with responsibilities for one of the largest franchises in South East Asia. Mukhtar served in Malaysia for 8 years until April 2018 before moving to Hong Kong to undertake his current role. Mukhtar has served as a member of the Executive Committee of HSBC Asia Pacific since 2010 and has recently joined the Board of HSBC Singapore. He graduated in Economics from the University of Wales in 1982 and is a Chartered Banker.

Taner Horoz - CEO

Taner Horoz, the third generation executive and the Chairman of the Board of Horoz Logistics, was born in Istanbul in 1967. He completed his education in Sisli Terakki High School, Istanbul and then graduated from the department of Business Administration of the Eckerd College in 1989. As the current leader of 76 years' heritage of Horoz brand, he launched his professional life by working at the company's office in Munich. Taner Horoz worked at various departments of the company during his career; rapidly became specialized in textile exports and textile retail business and finally took over the governance of the entire Horoz Group in 1990's.
