David E. Torres - President

David Torres serves as president of FL Star as well as president of the Hacienda Development Group, developer of Hacienda Lakes of Naples, a 2,262-acre Development of Regional Impact in Naples. Prior to his involvement with Hacienda Lakes, Torres served as Division President for Toll Brothers, leading the company's Northeast Florida operations. Torres had direct profit and loss responsibility for his region and was heavily involved in land acquisition of thousands of lots for future development. During his career with Toll Brothers, he held various positions including that of senior project manager, overseeing construction of both single-family homes and multi-family neighborhoods. Before joining Toll Brothers, Torres was an analyst with the New York City office of Booz Allen & Hamilton, a management consulting firm. Torres is a licensed Florida Certified General Contractor as well as a Florida real estate agent. He is a graduate of Columbia University in New York City where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a minor in Economics. He was the recipient of the Citation for Excellence in Civil Engineering and a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society.

Gary Hains

Gary Hains serves as vice president of FL Star with direct responsibility for oversight of FL Star Construction.. Before joining FL Star, Hains was Divisional Vice President for Toll Brothers Southwest Florida Division. During his tenure with Toll Brothers, Hains was responsible for locating, financially analyzing, conducting market research and negotiating land acquisition for various projects throughout Florida for future development. A participant in Toll Brothers Management Training Program, he also previously served as a senior project manager for Toll Brothers with responsibility for the construction of single-family homes and multi-family projects. Prior to joining Toll Brothers, Hains worked for LaBranche & Co. in New York serving as financial analyst and New York Stock Exchange Floor Clerk. A Florida licensed real estate agent, Hains is a graduate of Brown University and the London School of Economics in London, England.

Milano Lakes

The first building has topped out at Milano Lakes, a new apartment community off Collier Boulevard at The Lords Way in South Naples. The community encompasses more than 23 acres and will include 296 apartment homes in eight buildings, offering one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans. Within the community, 96 detached garages are planned. Milano Lakes is being developed by an affiliate of FL Star, a conglomerate of real estate entities led by Gary Hains and David E. Torres. Other projects include Arrowhead Reserve, a community of single-family homes in Immokalee. FL Star also provides management services for commercial and industrial buildings for real estate owners and condominium associations including maintenance, collection of rents and financial reporting. With initial clearing and blasting complete, contractors have begun to excavate the lakes at Milano Lakes, a new apartment community off Collier Boulevard at The Lords Way. Milano Lakes is being developed by an affiliate of FL Star, a conglomerate of real estate entities lead by Gary Hains and David E. Torres.
