Grey Bear Woodworks is a labor of love founded by Trystan Lindquist. After many years as an English professor teaching in Grand Rapids area colleges, Trystan bought a one-hundred year old house in Heritage Hill. While working on the renovation, he came to understand that he loved building and restoring: "I love to work with my hands as well as my mind," he says... Every piece we make is uniquely styled and customized to our customers needs. We design to fit an existing style (arts & crafts, art deco, mid-century modern, rustic, etc.), collaborate with you to create a design, or build what you have already envisioned... We create fine furniture and woodworking using high-quality wood that is locally-sourced, exotic or reclaimed. We collaborate with our customers to design and build pieces with custom styles, unique dimensions and specific purposes.
