Thomas D. Noonan, counsel, is an accomplished lawyer with more than twenty years of experience in advising, handling, and trying commercial and business disputes. Tom has tried cases successfully in federal and state courts in the United States and arbitrated many others. These disputes have involved diverse legal subject matter and industries. Tom regularly represents both plaintiffs and defendants in claims by and against private and public corporations, partnerships, other business entities and individuals. He also provides claim evaluations, general business and strategic advice. His areas of expertise include disputes involving contracts, manufacturing in the automotive and other industries, corporate control contests, fiduciary matters, actions to quiet title to real property and other property issues, landlord-tenant matters, labor and employment and residential and commercial construction projects. Successfully represented subcontractor in dispute with general contractor and owner of a large cement manufacturing project, which resulted in a published decision granting summary judgment in favor of subcontractor and which clarified the obligations of owners, general contractors and subcontractors under the Michigan Construction Lien Act, Steelcon, Inc. v. Bennett Wright Group, 257 F. Successfully represented a prominent talent and sports agency in breach of contract dispute in federal court and obtained summary judgment in agent‘s favor against owner of professional sports facility; successfully pierced the corporate veil against controlling member of owner in subsequent lawsuit filed in Michigan state court.
