Dr. Prithviraj Mukherji

Dr. Prithviraj Mukherji PhD set up Mukherji Consulting in 2016. The company is a Limited Liability Corporation designed to protect a unique risk management utility patent for minimizing failure risks associated with large complex information systems that was submitted to the US patent office in 2016. Since its founding the company has evolved to further the global development of interoperable healthcare information systems to be used by medical researchers, providers of patient care, and for disaster recovery scenarios. Dr. Prithviraj Mukherji is a thought leader in the field of systems engineering for healthcare information systems. He has over 20 years of experience in military healthcare information systems having served as a subject matter expert in the US Department of Defense's Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) for over 10 years. He has published and presented over a dozen manuscripts in scientific journals and technical conferences. As an Assistant Director of the Information Management and Technology Division of the US Government Accountability Office (1990-1999) Dr. Mukherji has co-authored fifteen reports to the US Congress on risk reduction methods for information systems and co-authored the GAO's methodology for conducting assessments of information management systems in US federal agencies. As Chair of the Healthcare Integrated Product Team since November 2015 for the north America based trade organization " Network Centric Operation Industry Consortium" (NCOIC) he has provided leadership in developing information system architectures for disaster recovery using distributed ledger systems. Since November 2017, Dr. Mukherji has served concurrently as the Chair, NCOIC's Cognitive Computing and Neural Network Work Group working with a group of engineers from Boeing, IBM France, and members of NCOIC. This work group hopes to use neural networks to train globally distributed healthcare information systems to recognize and eliminate cyber security threats while improving healthcare data provenance. Dr. Mukherji has a Master of Science (Chemistry) degree from Loyola College (Univ. of Madras, India) and a PhD (Physical Chemistry) from the University of Rhode Island, USA. He served on the staff of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (Princeton University) and was a member of the technical staff at AT&T's Bell Laboratories, Princeton, New Jersey. He was affiliated in 2017 with Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Mitre Campus in Tysons, Virginia as a Professor of Systems Engineering where he taught a graduate level course on System Integration, Verification and Validation. Early in his career Dr. Mukherji was a Professor of Computer Science at George Mason University and at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Since 1986 he was the President of Data Concepts Inc., a company he founded in 1986 until 2011 when he retired.
