Anne Ardila Brenøe is an Associate Professor of Business Economics at the Department of Business Administration, University of Zurich. Previously, she was the Larsson-Rosenquist Foundation Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, University of Zurich. She is a research affiliate of the Jacobs Center, the Institute of Labor Economics (IZA), the Center for Economic Behavior and Inequality (CEBI), the LRF Center for Economics of Breastfeeding, and the Life Course Centre. She earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Copenhagen in 2018.
Her research is embedded in the broader field of labor economics, with a focus on personnel and education economics. She studies topics such as occupational choice, skill allocation, and gender inequality. Her current research explores questions including:
How can we improve the allocation of skills in the labor market?
What explains occupational sorting by gender?
How can we broaden students' occupational search?

Andrea Giuffredi-Kähr is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in the Digital Economy at the Department of Business Administration. Her research expertise lies in branding and consumer behavior, where she examines brand management and consumer-brand relationships in our hyperconnected, digital world. Her research highlights the transformative influence of digitalization on marketing strategies, while exploring current themes like transparency in online retail, the dynamics of influencer marketing, and innovative strategies for fostering sustainable behavioral change.
Andrea has published her research in the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of the Association of Consumer Research, the Journal of Interactive Marketing and presented her research at international conferences such as conferences of the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center, Wharton School of Business, the American Marketing Association (AMA), and the Institute for Brands and Brand Relationships (IBBR).
Prior to joining the University of Zurich, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Marketing Department at the University of Bern where she received her PhD in 2017.

Christiane Barz graduated from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology before she worked for two years as a postdoctoral researcher at Chicago Booth School of Business, Illinois. She continued her work on approximate dynamic programming as an assistant professor (tenure track) at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, California. After a brief time as a professor of operations management at Technische Universität Berlin in 2015, she then joined the University of Zurich in 2016.

Professor Jochen Menges holds the Chair of Human Resource Management and Leadership at the Department of Business Administration and serves as the Director of the Center for Leadership in the Future of Work at the University of Zurich. He received his doctoral degree in management from the University of St. Gallen, spent a year at the Graduate School of Arts and Science at Yale University, and completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology at the University of Heidelberg. He also works as a Lecturer in Organizational Behaviour at Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge and has previously served as the Chair of Leadership and HRM at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Düsseldorf.
Professor Menges's research focuses on the social dynamics between leaders and followers, and on the role of emotions and motivation in organizational life. He studies how leaders can successfully inspire people to pursue collective goals and how people can work together in ways that contribute to their productivity and well-being. He has published his work, for example, in the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Harvard Business Review. Professor Menges is an Associate Editor for the Academy of Management Discoveries and a member of the Editorial Boards of the Academy of Management Journal and The Leadership Quarterly; previously he was a Consulting Editor for Emotion. He received several awards for his research, among them in 2019 the Annual Prize for the Best Leadership-related Article (Institute for Leadership, Ivey Business School) and in 2016 the Annals of the Academy of Management Best Article Award for his work on group emotions. His discoveries have been featured in two TEDx talks and in the media around the world, for example, by the BBC, CNN, The Economist, The Financial Times, Le Monde, The New York Times, NPR, The Wall Street Journal, and Die Zeit. He has also given two TEDx talks that have been watched online more than 100,000 times.
Professor Menges has lectured at all academic levels and received multiple best teacher awards. Professor Menges has also taught at start-up incubators such as Plug & Play in Silicon Valley and The Venture Café Foundation in Boston, as well as at prestigious military academies, such as The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK and The Center for Leadership in Germany. Together with his students, Professor Menges launched the Future Leaders Fundraising Challenge, a one-week intense leadership course that has meanwhile raised more than 300'000 Euro in support of the work of Save the Children, a leading independent children's rights organization.
In his research, teaching and consulting, Professor Menges has worked with a diverse set of companies and organizations including The Adecco Group, The Boston Consulting Group, British Telecom, Google, Jaguar Land Rover, L'Oreal, Microsoft, Nordea, Rolls-Royce, Trivago, and The World Bank. As a co-founder of the Global HR Valley, which is a future-of-work ecosystem that is part of the Reskilling Revolution of the World Economic Forum, he builds a platform together with prominent businesses to prepare leaders and organizations for a changing world of Work. He led a major employer quality assessment study, for which he gathered survey responses from more than 60,000 employees and evaluated more than 450 companies in Germany regarding their potential to attract and retain talent.

Luis Aguiar is Associate Professor of Management and Economics of Digital Transformation in the Department of Business Administration at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He is also a DSI Professor at the University of Zurich's Digital Society Initiative, and a Fellow of the CESifo Research Network. Prior to his appointment at the University of Zurich he was a Research Fellow in the Digital Economy Unit at the European Commission's Joint Research Center in Seville, Spain. His work relies on various econometric methods to analyze the effects of technological change on firms, consumers, markets, and welfare, with a particular focus on digital media products. His research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Political Economy, Information Systems Research, the Journal of Industrial Economics, and the International Journal of Industrial Organization. His research has also been covered by various news outlets, including The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, CNBC, and Billboard Magazine. Tarkan Tan is a full professor of the Chair of Sustainable Operations Management at the Department of Business Administration of the University of Zurich since September 2022. Prior to that, he worked at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and also taught at the Executive Master of Operations and Supply Chain Management program of TIAS Business School in Tilburg. He received his Ph.D. from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He spent one year at Columbia University, New York, as a Fulbright scholar, and he has spent academic terms at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Sydney Business School as a visiting scholar. He served as the director of the Operations Management and Logistics (OML) MSc program of TU/e and as an executive board member of the European Supply Chain Forum. Prof. Tan has served as guest and associate editor for some journals in his field and currently serves as an associate editor for the Manufacturing & Service Operations Management journal. His research interests include inventory theory, capacity management, spare parts management, and supply chain management with a particular focus on sustainability. Prof. Tan has been collaborating intensively with the industry mainly through his students and postdoctoral research fellows, and has acquired funds for several projects with the industry. He has published articles in academic journals such as Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, IISE Transactions, and Transportation Science, and co-edited a book entitled "Sustainable Supply Chains: A Research-based Textbook on Operations and Strategy".
Thomas Keil is tenured full professor and holds the Chair in International Management at the University of Zurich. Previously he taught at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Aalto University (2006-2013), the Schulich School of Business, York University in Toronto, Canada (2002-2006) and at Helsinki University of Technology (1996-2001). Thomas holds DSc (Tech) and Lic. Tech degrees from Helsinki University of Technology and a MSc degree (Dipl.Wirsch.-Ing.) from Darmstadt University of Technology.
Thomas' research focuses on strategic management of multinational enterprises, specifically strategic renewal and transformation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate entrepreneurship and innovation. His work has been published in leading European (e.g., Journal of Management Studies, Harvard Business Manager) and North American (e.g., Academy of Management Review, Journal of Business Venturing, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review) top journals and has won several international awards. He is a member of the editorial review boards of Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Organization Science. He is also serving as a member of the National Research Council of the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Thomas has taught extensively in undergraduate, graduate and PhD programs, customized executive education, MBA and Executive MBA programs in Europe and North America. He has been an active advisor to small and large corporations across a wide range of industries.
