Dr Anchal Puri

Anchal studied dentistry at Glasgow Dental Hospital and graduated in 2009. She gained further experience in a variety of dental specialties post-graduation, prior to embarking on 3-year specialist training in orthodontics in Edinburgh. This training allowed Anchal to sit the specialty examination at the royal college of Surgeons and she subsequently qualified in as a Specialist Orthodontist with the General Dental Council. Anchal has also undertaken further training allowing her to treat complex multidisciplinary orthodontic patients,after passing her fellowship examination in orthodontics in 2017. Anchal is a NHS Consultant Orthodontist at Sunderland Royal Hospital where she treats multidisciplinary orthodontic patients with facial deformities and complex needs and joined Queensway Orthodontics as a Specialist Orthodontist in July 2021.

Dr Camilla Miles-Hobbs

Camilla graduated from the University of Bristol in 2014 and completed her Foundation Training in London a year later, before going on to work as a Dental Core Trainee (DCT) to gain experience in the different dental specialities. She worked in the paediatric dental unit at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, followed by a year at Bristol Royal Infirmary in the oral and maxillofacial surgery department and a year in a mixed clinical and research post in paediatric dentistry and orthodontics at Bristol Dental Hospital. In 2018, Camilla then embarked on three years of specialist orthodontic training at Cardiff Dental Hospital. As part of her training, she completed a Masters in Orthodontics at Cardiff University, graduating with distinction, and gained Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2021. Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? In my surgery, chatting to patients and planning their treatment. What is the most rewarding part of your job? Giving people smiles to be proud of and boosting their confidence. What do you enjoy doing out of work? Spending time with my family, running, staying fit & healthy, exploring the UK's most beautiful places! What makes you smile? Spending quality time with my favourite people with good coffee and delicious food.

Dr Colin McMurray

Colin graduated with honours from Newcastle University in 1999. He attained his MFDS qualification at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2002. During his training pathway Colin has gained wide experience with positions as a Senior House Officer at Newcastle Dental Hospital, followed by a post in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Newcastle General Hospital. Colin completed his specialist orthodontic training as a Registrar at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, attaining his Membership of the Faculty of Orthodontists at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2007. During his specialist training Colin researched a novel method to reduce the risks of demineralisation during orthodontic treatment as an MSc project, which was passed with distinction. Colin is an Invisalign® provider and he works in partnership with some the region's leading Restorative Specialists and implant experts in treating complex multidisciplinary cases. Colin is on the Orthodontic Specialist List and is a member of the British Orthodontic Society.

Dr Guy Deeming

Guy is a specialist orthodontist and partner at Queensway Orthodontics. He is absolutely passionate about delivering the best possible care to all his patients and he uses his experience, our amazing team and the latest technologies to make that happen every single day. Guy initially qualified as a dentist from Newcastle University in 2000, before completing advanced training at Guy's and Kingston Hospitals, London to become a registered specialist in orthodontics in 2007. To be honest, his experience speaks for itself - Guy is a member of the Invisalign® advisory board and leads the team at Queensway Orthodontics as the leading Specialist Invisalign Provider in the North of England. He has also been a Director of the British Orthodontic Society, which a highly respected professional organisation representing orthodontics in the UK. In addition, he has a visiting specialist to the Orthodontic Department at Newcastle University, teaching and training other orthodontists and dentists by sharing his expertise with colleagues. Dr Heidi Law

Heidi graduated from Queen's University, Belfast in 2008 and during this time she also completed an intercalated BSc in Anatomy. Heidi gained further experience in different areas of dentistry including oral surgery, paediatrics and restorative dentistry post-graduation and during this time attained Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. In 2012, she embarked on specialist training at the University of Sheffield/Royal Derby Hospital and was awarded a Masters in Clinical Dentistry (Merit) and obtained Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Dr Jonathan Chapple

Jonathan studied dentistry at Newcastle Dental Hospital and graduated in 1998. He gained further experience in a variety of dental specialties post-graduation, prior to embarking on the 3-year specialist training in orthodontics in the North East of England, gaining a Master's Degree, which he passed with Merit. This training allowed Jonathan to sit the specialty examination at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and he qualified in 2004 as a registered Specialist Orthodontist with the General Dental Council. Jonathan has also undertaken a further two years of training in the management of complex multidisciplinary orthodontic patients, passing his fellowship examination in orthodontics in 2007 Jonathan is a NHS Consultant Orthodontist at Newcastle Dental Hospital where he treats multidisciplinary orthodontic patients with facial deformities and complex needs. He has an interest in new technologies in orthodontics and is a certified Invisalign® practitioner. Jonathan is also actively involved in teaching and training of undergraduates and postgraduates at Newcastle Dental hospital as a consultant level. He is also an active member, examiner and advisor to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Dr Jonathan Hunter

Jonathan qualified as a dentist attaining his honours degree (BDS) at the University of Manchester in 1986. Jonathan then went on to specialise in Orthodontics and qualified as an Orthodontist in 1995 from the Eastman Dental Hospital in London, attaining his MSc qualification. Jonathan is a member of the Faculty of Dentistry (FDSRCPS) and has worked in all sectors of dentistry, having run his own private orthodontic practice since 1995. Jonathan previously worked part time for IDH from 2013 before joining Queensway in April 2020.

Dr Kathryn Edwards

Kathryn graduated from Newcastle Dental School with honours in 2009 and was awarded the British Society of Restorative Dentistry (BSRD) prize for her clinical work, and the British Society for Paediatric Dentistry (BSPD) prize due to her interest in clinical research regarding the oral health of children and adolescents. She then completed General Professional Training in 2011 before going on to work in general dental practice and teach undergraduate dental students on the Newcastle Dental Emergency Clinic. Kathryn then spent a year in Australia working as a dental officer and clinical supervisor for undergraduate dental students at Queensland University. Upon her return to the UK, she gained further experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics working at Altnagelvin Hospital Northern Ireland, before moving to the Community Dental Service in Northumberland. Kathryn then completed three years of specialist orthodontic training at Newcastle Dental Hospital. She completed a Masters in Orthodontics at Newcastle University, graduating with distinction, and gained Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2019.

Dr Louise Carter

Louise joined the orthodontic team at Queensway Orthodontics in April 2012. She graduated from Newcastle Dental School in 2004 with honours and was awarded the British Dental Association prize for her academic achievements. She completed her vocational training in Teesside before becoming a Senior House Officer (SHO) on the Oral and Maxillofacial unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital. In 2006, she was awarded a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Louise then worked as an SHO in Newcastle Dental Hospital where she was able to gain further experience in the sedation, restorative, paediatric and orthodontic departments before moving to a general practice and the Community Dental Service. She then embarked on specialist training in orthodontics at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. As part of her training she completed a Masters in Orthodontics at Newcastle University, graduating with distinction. Louise is also a certified provider of Invisalign® and a member of the British Orthodontic Society and European Master of Aligners.

Dr Nadia Ahmed

Since completing Dental School in 2007, Nadia has shown her passion for learning and developing new skills as she embarked on her path to specialise. She gained experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine, Radiology and Paediatric Dentistry in the early part of her hospital career. The journey to becoming a Specialist and Consultant Orthodontist took Nadia across the Midlands and Yorkshire, gaining a wide range of experience in various hospitals, which shaped her training experience. Nadia carried out her specialist training in Leeds and gained the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons England in 2016, alongside undertaking research in auto transplantation of teeth. Nadia passed her MSc with Merit from the University of Leeds. Since 2016, she has built her experience in specialist Orthodontic practice. Further training in Birmingham Dental Hospital to become a Consultant, led to the Fellowship in Orthodontics. During this final part of training, she enjoyed treating patients needing multidisciplinary treatment and in particular Orthognathic surgery and hypodontia (missing teeth), as well as regularly attending Birmingham's Children's' Hospital to attend cleft clinics with the multidisciplinary team in one of four craniofacial units in the UK. Nadia has completed a postgrad certificate in dental education and has a passion for teaching. She has been involved in a number of orthodontic books for postgraduate. Where would a patient usually find you in the practice? Talking to my patients and building rapport to ensure they feel comfortable to share their orthodontic journey with me to reach the goal of their dream smile. What is the most rewarding part of your job? Seeing the final results of my patients' orthodontic treatment and their reaction when their smile is revealed after their braces have been removed. What do you enjoy doing out of work? Baking and training for the GBBO (hopefully 2023 watch this space), Bollywood dance with the international shiamak academy, hiking adventures, being in the art studio with oil paints and a blank canvas, being in my kitchen cooking for dinner parties, creating memories with my family, working on various projects as a certified life coach. What makes you smile? Sunshine, the sound of waves on a beach, baking for friends, family and colleagues, and travelling to new places to explore.

Dr Richard Leck

Richard studied dentistry at Newcastle University and was awarded the James Coltman Prize for Operative Dentistry when he graduated in 2010.He gained valuable experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Special Care Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry and attained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in 2012. Richard discovered his passion for orthodontics in 2014 when he started straightening smiles using Invisalign, and in 2019 he returned to Newcastle University to embark upon a 3-year MSc training programme in orthodontics. He subsequently sat the specialty Membership in Orthodontics examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons of England and was awarded the prestigious William Houston Gold Medal for the most meritorious performance in these examinations.
