UTILITY MAPPING - Key Persons
Barry has more than 17 years' experience working for Siemens in several roles, including as an interface design engineer and in drawing management, gaining efficient TP135 compliance for all scheme closure projects. Realising there was a business opportunity for drawing management services, Barry joined Centara in 2016. He has worked as a project engineer and is currently our director of engineering. He works closely with key stakeholders with a commitment to business results and customer satisfaction.
Craig joined Centara in 2009 and oversees the bureau services team. He is responsible for the business management, development, quotations and sales teams in addition to being the overall project manager of all activities across the bureau aspect of the business. He has a BSc in media production and is currently studying for Level 5 in Operational Management through the CMI.
Heather has more than 12 years of finance experience. In addition to her central role, she works in HR and safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ), having recently achieved Chartered Manager status and IOSH qualifications.

James joined the company in 2011, having worked as a geomatics and utility surveyor on key UK infrastructure projects in civil, electrical and transmission sectors. An integral part of the team, he has been our senior topographical surveyor, survey delivery manager and project manager. He established the drawing management department. In addition to being qualified in The Survey Association (TSA) surveying, AutoCAD and National Grid competencies, James is studying for further qualifications through the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
Ken Brown - Managing Director
Ken established Centara in 2009 with his wife and business partner. He had gained considerable experience from working at utility companies and providing outsourced services in sectors nationally and internationally. Centara grew from a small team of 6 to 65 over 12 years. Today, it is a respected business in surveying, light current electrical engineering design, drawing management and computer aided design (CAD) bureau services.
Neil brought his experience in business development to Centara in 2012. He is an experienced leader with a track record for delivering annual double-digit growth in several companies. Neil is experienced in motivating teams to develop sustainable relationships, delivering services for clients in the utilities, construction, highways, rail and government markets.
