Aileen is a partner in our Residential and Commercial Property departments. She deals with all aspects of commercial and residential property and has spent a number of years acting for various developers, assisting them with their purchasing, funding and leasing requirements. Additionally, Aileen has also acted for a number of well known retail and licensed trade clients in relation to leases in both commercial and retail developments.

Audrey is Head of our Licensing Division. She specialises in all types of licensing work across industry sectors and handles a range of licensing matters, including gambling, civic government and liquor work. Together with the team Audrey has been successful in obtaining licence approvals across Scotland in varied and often challenging circumstances.
Audrey is ranked as a Leading Individual in Licensing Law in the Legal 500 Guide and a Band 1 Licensing Solicitor in the 2022 Chambers Guide. She is described by sources as "thorough and knowledgeable, with an ever-growing wealth of experience." Clients note that her "knowledge of licensing is exceptional," adding: "She knows what the different licensing boards are looking for and can tailor her presentation accordingly".
Calum is a solicitor in our Employment Law department.
Calum has worked in employment law throughout his career and has supported a number of clients in the retail, manufacturing and hospitality sectors where he has provided commercially-minded and pragmatic advice. Calum is particularly interested in discrimination law.
Outside of practice, Calum enjoys walking his two dogs, cooking and watching football.

Outside of work, Chloe is a keen runner. She is very interested in sport and is a qualified Triathlon Coach.

David is a solicitor in our Dispute Resolution and Litigation department. He qualified as a solicitor in 2021 following completion of a litigation-focussed traineeship with the firm.
David has a broad interest in all aspects of dispute resolution and litigation with a particular passion for oral advocacy. Throughout his traineeship, and as a qualified solicitor, David has appeared in courts, tribunals and licensing boards across Scotland, acting for both Pursuers and Defenders .
David has acted for clients in areas such as personal injury, breach of contract, property disputes, lease disputes, debt/asset recovery and interdict. He has also assisted with the preparation of large and complex cases in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session.

Diane is the Head of the Dispute Resolution/Litigation team and has over 30 years' experience exclusively in this field. Diane has spent most of her career with the firm having joined the firm as a trainee in 1991 and had a short spell with Hill Brown solicitors before being assumed as a Partner in Miller Samuel LLP in 1999. She was the firm's full time Managing Partner from 2005 - 2009.
She appears regularly in the Sheriff Courts and the Lands Tribunal Scotland and runs cases regularly in the Court of Session. She has experience of Supreme Court proceedings.
She has extensive experience of dealing with highly technical and complex cases including:

Edward is the head of our Private Client and Residential Property Departments and has been a partner for over 30 years.
He is a skilled property solicitor and has vast experience in complex property transactions dealing with all aspects of Residential Property. He has been involved in the acquisition of development sites, the purchase of large property portfolios and rural and country estates.
Edward also deals with the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts and gives advice on Wealth Management issues. He is an expert in the protection of individual and family assets, tax planning and issues of succession.
His knowledge and years of experience offers clients a high level of advice and service which he delivers in a friendly and straightforward manner.

Gabrielle has experience in all areas of Family Law including divorce, cohabitation agreements, pre and post nuptial agreements, child residence and contact disputes.
