A. Marc Nielsen

Job Titles:

A Marc Nielsen, MD, is a family medicine physician who is honored to provide care to entire families and different generations. For Dr. Nielsen, personal experiences and those of family members with needed healthcare have helped him understand what patients expect and deserve from their physicians. When not caring for patients, Dr. Nielsen enjoys the outdoors by hunting and fishing with his family. A. Marc Nielsen, MD, Program Director, joined the program in 2012 and has been program director since 2013. Dr. Nielsen pursued his medical school education at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Grand Forks. Dr. Nielsen is married with four sons and enjoys hunting and fishing with his family, cooking and athletics.

Adam Quinn

Adam Quinn, MD, serves as the sports medicine fellowship program director at Altru Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Quinn grew up in northern Minnesota is received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. He joined the program in June of 2018 after completing his residency and sports medicine fellowship in Grand Forks. He continues to have an interest in sports medicine and musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Andrew Gasparini

Andrew Gasparini, MD, joined the program in 2012 after completing his residency. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and is a native of Grand Forks. Dr. Gasparini enjoys all aspects of family medicine, including obstetrics, geriatrics and sports medicine. When he is not providing care for your family medicine needs, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids.

Catherine Yeager

Catherine Yeager, PhD, joined the Altru Family Medicine Residency in 2001. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from UND and completed her internship at Children's Hospitals - Minneapolis. Dr. Yeager's specialties include child/adolescent therapy, infant/toddler assessment, and pediatric neuropsychological assessment.

Derek Lyste

Derek Lyste, MD, received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed his residency training in Grand Forks in 2010. After practicing at Altru Family Medicine Center for four years, Dr. Lyste joined the program as an assistant director in 2014. When not at work, Dr. Lyste spends time at the lake with his wife and two daughters.

Elizabeth Gray, MD, joined the program in 2020 after practicing at Altru Family Medicine Center for two years. She received her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed her residency in Grand Forks. She has a special interest in obstetrics and women's health and enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, reading, cooking and playing volleyball.

Fallon Hoverson

Fallon Hoverson MD, has been a member of the faculty since 2016 after practicing for two years at Altru Family Medicine Center. She is a North Dakota native and received her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her areas of interest include obstetrics, women's health and pediatrics. In her free time, Dr. Hoverson enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and spending summers at her family lake home.

Greg D. Greek

Greg D. Greek, MD, has been with the program since 1992. Dr. Greek served as program director from 2003-2013 and is now an assistant director. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and completed his residency in Grand Forks. He has a special interest in sports medicine. When Dr. Greek is not working, he enjoys woodworking, reading and fishing.

Heidi Philpot, MD, Associate Program Director, joined the program in 2006 after completing her residency in Grand Forks. Jamie R. Roed, MD, joined the program as a faculty member in 2005. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed his residency in Grand Forks. Dr. Roed is a native of Devils Lake, ND and in his free time enjoys rollerblading, biking and spending time with his family.

William S. Mann

William S. Mann, MD, was born and raised in Scotland and received his medical degree from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He was the program director from 1983-1996 and then served as the chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine from 1996 to 2002. He returned to the program in 2002 as a faculty member and has been practicing at Altru Family Medicine Residency since his return. Dr. Mann has a special interest in sports medicine and ultrasound and enjoys taking his dog on long walks.
