Tom Airlie

Tom joined the electricity distribution sector at the age of 15 as a craft apprentice cable jointer, during his 17 years with the regional electricity company/DNO Tom qualified (up to 33kv) and carried on developing his knowledge, moving into the office at the age of 26 to project manage local street lighting and unmetered supplies. His final role within the DNO was in the training department covering Health & Safety and the apprenticeship programme. Whilst working full-time Tom undertook nine years of part-time study to gain a Honours degree in Business & Finance, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and a National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH). Tom has been working independently since 2002 and has been trusted by asset owners, principal contractors and sub-contractors to deliver training and assessment in the electricity supply, highway electrical and construction industry. With such experience and an operational background, Tom is inspirational in the classroom and is able to fully engage with a complete range of delegates to ensure their individual requirements are met.
