Andrew Carrier - CMO

Joining Quant in 2021, Andrew is responsible for Quant's marketing, communications and brand. He has more than 20 years' experience in the financial services sector, including four at Deutsche Bank - where he had global responsibility for the marketing of the bank's securities services - and eight with secure financial messaging and standards cooperative SWIFT. While at SWIFT, his roles included product marketing, leading the global marketing communications team, and taking charge of communications for Sibos, the world's premier financial services event which connects thousands of executives, decision-makers and thought leaders from across the industry every year. Andrew is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the author of InMarketing, a newsletter that draws insights from the week's most intriguing financial services stories, and an unredeemable Twitter addict.

Andy Nelson

Andy ensures that Quant's architecture, processes and systems are optimised and scalable. With over two decades' experience as a technical leader in high-end computational, storage and data protection solutions for scale and resilience, Andy has worked across a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, telecoms, insurance, and banking. Andy spent ten years at Illumina as a Lead and Associate Director, with operational responsibility for informatics operations in Europe and oversight of its AWS estate. He deployed zero-touch, automated infrastructure operations for genomic applications across multiple jurisdictions with complex data sovereignty requirements. He also worked for AstraZeneca managing its experimental platform systems in R&D and was Lead Storage Architect for Barclay's Bank's backend office systems. Andy has a US patent for Cloud Computing Environments for Biological Data. He is a certified technical and interpersonal skills trainer and enjoys keeping up to date with the latest science, technology and software-related developments. When he needs to get fresh air, you may find him kitesurfing at a windy beach anywhere the water is warm.

Christopher Harrison

Chris joined Quant in 2021 to head up Quant's software engineering and IT teams as it delivers the transformative blockchain solutions of the future. Chris has a wealth of cross-industry experience in e-commerce and financial services - in both the public and private sectors. Prior to Quant, he was Head of Engineering Services for charitable housing association L&Q. This followed roles as Head of IT and Head of Technology & Delivery for Investec and Gumtree respectively. His earlier career includes seven years with technology, logistics and financial services giant Pitney Bowes in a variety of product development and engineering roles. Chris is a frequent public speaker on Agile methodology and software lifecycle optimisation. His specialties include, hosted software, server tools, desktop and mobile, and embedded and desktop GIS software. Chris is a certified Scrum Master.

Dr Luke Riley

Luke joined Quant in 2019 as Head of Innovation, leading research and development for Overledger, the blockchain-agnostic API gateway that enables interoperability and the tokenisation of digital assets. Prior to Quant, Luke spent three years at King's College London as a Computer Science Research Associate examining decentralised voting applications, proof of stake consensus protocol and smart contracts. He also worked at the University of Liverpool as a Knowledge Transfer Associate to develop AI-based distributed systems. His specialist areas include the design and deployment of multi-chain applications: atomic swaps, cross-chain asset migrations, tokens, privacy-preserving payment systems and layer-two payment channels. An advocate of making blockchain more accessible, Luke launched A Beginner's Guide to Becoming a Blockchain Developer with Overledger at KCL. He is a frequent public speaker, participating in the UK's All-Party Parliamentary Groups, author of numerous research papers on DLTs and interoperability, and in 2021, was named a Key Influencer in the Blockchain Industry by the Deep Knowledge Analytics and Big Innovation Centre.

Gagik Alaverdian

Gagik joined Quant in 2019 as COO of the Americas, responsible for growth and operations. Prior to joining Quant, Gagik successfully scaled two technology companies, Protego Security and Advance Computer Care, in the UK and United States, respectively. He has over 20 years' broad experience in sales, customer service, operations, technology, IT and engineering. Based in Los Angeles, Gagik is a keen golfer and is currently working his way the 80 courses in the greater metropolitan area.

Gilbert Verdian - CEO, Founder

As CEO and Founder of Quant, Gilbert is focused on unlocking the power of blockchain for everyone, to create an empowered, interconnected world. Gilbert has more than 20 years of cybersecurity experience and C-level accountability as a CISO, CIO and CTO. He has worked in government-for Downing Street, HM Treasury, the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Justice and NSW Health-and has also served in the private sector, at Mastercard, Vocalink, CSC, EY, PwC, BP and HSBC. With a keen interest in disruptive technology, Gilbert established the Blockchain ISO Standard TC307 initiative in 2015 and is the Convenor of the the Interoperability working group WG7for ISO.

Guy Dietrich

Guy Dietrich is a Managing Director at Rockefeller Capital Management. He has over 35 years of investment experience and is responsible for advising ultra-high net worth clients, family offices, foundations and endowments. Prior to joining Rockefeller, Mr Dietrich led the largest private wealth management practice for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Silicon Valley. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College, was a fellow at Harvard's Advanced Leadership Initiative and was on the Advisory Board of the Stanford University Institute for Economic Policy Research.

Helen Kemmitt - Chief Legal Officer

Helen leads Quant's legal, risk and regulatory approach as it offers blockchain solutions to enterprises, institutions and governments worldwide. Helen has many years' experience gained in private practice and in-house advising businesses launch new services. Prior to Quant, Helen worked at dunnhumby as a legal director and prior to that at Baker McKenzie in London and Paris. She is keen cyclist and long-distance swimmer.

Lara Verdian - COO

Lara leads Quant's daily operations, strategy, and administration as it goes to market internationally. Lara brings over 20 years' experience in the Healthcare and Lifesciences industry as a specialist in the development of global pricing and GTM (Go-To-Market) strategies for pharma companies. Having held senior positions in international leadership, she has a strong track record of success in global launches, pricing strategies and played key roles in valuation and due diligence projects relating to acquisition targets, both of pharmaceutical companies and private equity. Highly experienced in business development and managing multimillion dollar budgets, Lara successfully led the pharmaceutical and life sciences division of the broader Health Economics and Social Policy Practice at Deloitte, and has worked at other leading pharmaceutical/healthcare brands, including J&J, Pfizer, GSK, Eisai, Actelion and Intercept. She holds an MBA from the University of Technology Sydney, and an MSc in Health Economics from London School of Economics and Political Science.

Martin Hargreaves

Martin leads Quant's product strategy with a particular focus on how distributed ledger technologies and blockchain-based tokens can unlock new efficiencies in finance, supply chain and beyond. He is a seasoned fintech and payments specialist, steeped in product discovery, who has spearheaded the development and delivery of projects for B2B SaaS products. Prior to Quant, Martin spent nearly 13 years at Vocalink, a Mastercard company, where he was most recently Vice President, Product Management. He led product, strategy and architecture teams by championing an agile culture, innovation and continuous learning. Martin approaches product development with a focus on solving real customer pain points, ensuring commercial viability, and facilitating frictionless user experiences. He is experienced in building infrastructure architecture teams and departments and in professional services delivery. With two patents in payments data processing and ACH transactions to his name, Martin is also a Steering Committee member of the Digital Pound Foundation.

Neil Smit

Neil Smit serves as a Vice Chairman of Comcast Corporation. In this role, he works with Comcast leaders to develop future technology-oriented business opportunities. Previously, Neil served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Comcast Cable, where he helped transform Comcast Cable into the top cable and broadband company in the nation. Neil and his team created an innovation engine at Comcast Cable with countless new and game-changing products and businesses, including X1, the voice remote, digital home technology and a growing broadband and Wi-Fi platform. Under Neil's leadership, Comcast Cable grew video and broadband customers, helped reinvent the television experience, and built a business services division. Neil joined Comcast in March 2010 from Charter Communications where he served as Chief Executive Officer and Director since 2005. Prior to joining Charter, Neil was the President of Time Warner's America Online Access Business, where he oversaw Internet access services, including America Online (AOL), CompuServe and Netscape ISPs. He also served at AOL as Executive Vice President, Member Services, and Chief Operating Officer of MapQuest. Neil also was a regional president with Nabisco and served in a number of management positions at Pillsbury. For five and a half years, Neil served on active duty with the Navy SEAL Teams and retired from the service as a Lieutenant Commander.

Peter Marirosans - CTO

Pete heads Quant's technology development, architecture, and engineering strategy to help it bring its transformative blockchain solutions to market. With more than 20 years' experience, Pete joined Quant in 2019, and is adept at leading teams to solve some of the most complex issues in IT. His focus includes project implementation design, process and project management, technical architecture, cybersecurity, gap/risk analysis and agile methodology. Prior to Quant, Pete worked in various technology roles across the energy and utilities sector, including nearly eight years with Total Gas & Power Ltd. When Pete is not working on technology, he spends his time on DIY and traipsing with his family around the English countryside.

Rebecca Hackworth - CCO

Rebecca heads Quant's communications, content and public relations. Prior to Quant, Rebecca spent nearly four years as Head of Communications, Europe for U.S. Bank where she led public relations, executive communications and internal communications across six markets. She led communications for M&A activity, including Elavon's £250m SagePay acquisition and reputational management. She authored research and thought-leadership activity and received the bank's prestigious platinum award for launching the Women of Europe BRG. Prior to this, Rebecca worked for 13 years in leadership roles in global marketing, communications and public affairs at International SOS. Rebecca began her career at AstraZeneca and Wyeth (now Pfizer) in internal communications. Rebecca is a dual US/UK citizen and enjoys biking, running and playing the piano. She has completed an Executive Management Programme at Henley Business School.
