Huang Chunmao was born in Jiujiang, Jiangxi province in 1971, and graduated from Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in 1996, and graduated from Alfred University in New York in 2003 with a master's degree in Aesthetics. From 2003 to 2004, he taught at Knox University. In 2004 he returned to China and launched the ceramic design studio of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, then working as a host until now. Huang Chunmao now is a member of UNESCO Ceramic Art Committee, deputy secretary general of China ceramic industry design association and design director of China Yong Feng Yuan Co., LTD.
Huang Chunmao was mainly engaged in the creation of modern ceramic art in the earlier time, focusing mainly on assembling art and experimental art during the time in US. His works are collected by Ministry of Culture of China and many museums in the United States and Europe. After he found the speciality of the ceramic design studio of China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2004, Huang Chunmao began to explore the combination of Chinese traditional culture and modern and contemporary design&art, and have designed many state banquet one by one.
