ARIZONA COMPUTING POSTDOCTORAL ACADEMY

I am currently working as a research scholar at the Department of Biomedical Informatics, Arizona State University. I'm involved in the management and execution of several research studies involving social media mining for public health monitoring. I am particularly interested in utilizing social media big data for deriving population based signals that provide crucial information about public health. I have been engaged in limited non-academic research. In 2014, I worked for the Australian company Abbrevi8 and developed an automatic news summarization engine (product available as HUGO in the app store). I have also been involved in image processing research as an intern at Canon Information Systems Research Australia (CiSRA). Prior to working for ASU, I completed my Ph.D in Computational Linguistics at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.
