BUTE SHINTY CLUB

Shinty is an ancient sport having been played for centuries across the highlands and islands before the standardisation of rules with the formation of the Camanachd Association in 1893. There have been several teams constituted on the Island of Bute with the earliest established in 1907. The present Bute Shinty Club was formed 1946... Bute Shinty Club play at the Meadows on the Island of Bute. The club's 1 st team competes in Mowi South of Scotland Division 1 while the 2 nd team competes in Mowli South Division 2. Bute also has teams at Primary, Under 14 and Under 17 level who play in various leagues, cups and 6 aside tournaments. We also have a thriving Bute Ladies Shinty team who will compete in the Ladies South Division 2 for 2020...
