Dr. Ashley Sturdy

Dr. Ashley Sturdy is a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializing in comprehensive Ophthalmology, medical retina, and ocular immunology and inflammation. She diagnoses, manages, and treats a wide range of eye conditions including, but not limited to, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, and uveitic conditions. Dr. Sturdy completed her undergraduate training at the University of Georgia and earned her medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. She completed a medical internship at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dr. Sturdy went on to complete an Ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado, Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute in 2013 followed by a fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Inflammation from the renowned Johns Hopkins University at the Wilmer Eye Institute in 2014. Dr. Sturdy was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and one of the most prestigious honor societies in the United States, due in part to its long-standing history and academic selectivity. She was also the recipient of numerous scholarships, awards, and distinctions throughout her training including the AMA Medical Scholars, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the Presidential Scholar, to name a few. She has authored numerous papers and presented lectures in the field of Ophthalmology at both the local and national level. Dr. Sturdy has been providing compassionate and quality eye care to the Rocky Mountain Region for almost a decade. When not in the office, she enjoys exploring all things Colorado. She and her family enjoy skiing, hiking, and camping.

Dr. Celine Satija

Dr. Celine Satija is a board-certified ophthalmologist and corneal specialist. She utilizes the latest techniques for cornea transplantation including Descemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK), Descemets Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK), Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK) and Penetrating Keratoplasty (PKP). As a corneal specialist, she performs corneal crosslinking for the treatment of keratoconus. She also specializes in routine and complex cataract surgery, especially those involving previous cornea transplantation and refractive surgery (LASIK, Radial Keratotomy). She performs minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), as well as refractive surgeries such as LASIK, PRK, ICL, and Clear Lens Extraction. She also performs secondary intraocular lens implantation including the Yamane Technique for lens subluxation and dislocation. Dr. Satija completed her undergraduate studies in ecology and evolutionary biology at Princeton University in 2011, and in 2016 received her medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. She completed her medical internship in internal medicine in 2017 at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, and her residency in ophthalmology in 2020 at the University of Minnesota where she won the Best Resident Surgeon Award. She went on to complete her Cornea fellowship in 2021 at Tufts Medical Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. She began her practice in Brooklyn, New York, where she served as the Director of Cornea Service at Maimonides Hospital prior to moving to Colorado. Dr. Satija has devoted her time to volunteering with many organizations. She worked in primary care clinics in New Orleans, as well as across the globe in Nepal and the Philippines. Dedicated to education in Ophthalmology, Dr. Satija also volunteered her time to train medical students in the basics of eye exams in the care of underserved populations. Dr. Satija is excited to reside in the beautiful state of Colorado with her family and provide premium care to the Rocky Mountain Region community. In her spare time, Dr. Satija enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, yoga, cooking, and trying new restaurants. She is an accomplished violinist, having been a member of the Princeton University Symphony Orchestra.

Dr. Karen Repine

Dr. Karen Repine is a board-certified ophthalmologist and partner of Colorado Eye Consultants. Specializing in both cataract and refractive surgery, she has provided patients with a better quality of vision throughout the Rocky Mountain Region for more than 30 years. With a practice focused on comprehensive Ophthalmology, she also diagnoses and treats a wide range of eye conditions from very minor to serious, sight-threatening conditions. Dr. Repine completed her undergraduate training at the University of Colorado, graduating Cum Laude. She also received her medical degree from the University of Colorado, School of Medicine, graduating with Honors in the top 5% of her class. She is the recipient of numerous academic honors, scholarships, and awards including the distinction of being elected as a junior student into Alpha Omega Alpha, Medicine's National Honor Society for exceptional academic accomplishments, and the Pulmonary Subspecialty Grand Award for Medical Student Research (multiple years) to name a few. Dr. Repine went on to complete her medical internship in Internal Medicine followed by her Ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado during which time she was actively involved in clinical research, publishing numerous papers, as well as, presenting her research at both National and International Scientific Meetings. She is a nationally recognized Ophthalmologist, including by the American College of Physicians for outstanding clinical research, ranked in Laser Vision's Top 100 Surgeons in the Nation, voted as one of America's Top Doctor's, along with being ranked by 5280 as one of Denver's Top Laser Surgeons. Known for her compassion and attentiveness, she received VSP's People First Award, for providing outstanding quality care to her patients. After completing her medical training, Dr. Repine opened her solo Ophthalmology practice, Repine Vision and Laser, where she treated generations of family members throughout the Denver metro area. Dr. Repine formally merged her practice with Corneal Consultants of Colorado, now known as Colorado Eye Consultants, in 2013 bringing more than 20 years of surgical excellence and experience to the team. Dr. Repine has served on the faculty at the University of Colorado, both as an attending physician in the Department of Family Practice residency program, as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology mentoring and teaching future Ophthalmologists. Dr. Repine grew up in Colorado and enjoys all the beautiful features this state has to offer. When not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her kids and granddogs, as well as hiking, golfing, and cycling.

Dr. Lance Forstot

Dr. Forstot has served in numerous positions at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, including his most recent role of Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology, where he was twice named Faculty Teacher of the Year. He has spent more than 35 years serving veterans as a faculty member at the Veterans Administration Medical Center of Denver. Dr. Forstot has also been a frequent lecturer, author of numerous articles, abstracts, and book chapters, as well as served on a variety of boards and advisory committees in the field of Ophthalmology. Dr. Forstot has been recognized as one of the "Nation's Top Doctors" of Ophthalmology since 1981 and by the renowned Castle Connolly "America's Top Doctors" since 2000. He is a nationally recognized Ophthalmologist and is considered an expert in the subspecialty of cornea by his peers. Dr. Forstot has spent a significant part of his career participating in clinical research and FDA trials to help advance the field of Ophthalmology in both surgical and non-surgical treatments and procedures and was one of the first surgeons in the country to perform corneal crosslinking for the treatment of keratoconus.

Dr. Sarah Pacheco

Dr. Sarah Pacheco is a board-certified optometrist who specializes in comprehensive medical care, post-operative care for both cataract and refractive surgery, as well as fitting patients with all types of contact lenses, including specialty lenses such as RGP's, CRT's and Scleral lenses. Dr. Pacheco earned her undergraduate degree from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. and went on to earn her doctorate degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, graduating Cum Laude. She was inducted into the prestigious Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honors Society, as well as the Tomb and Key Honor Societies. Dr. Pacheco has also participated in clinical research projects including the Hyperopia and ADHD Association Pediatric Study and the Comparison of Efficacy of Open-Angle Glaucoma Surgical and Laser Treatments. In 2018, Dr. Pacheco moved back to Colorado after completing her clinical training in ocular disease, pediatrics, cornea, and specialty contact lenses. She is passionate about fitting gas permeable, scleral, Ortho-K and hybrid lenses. By utilizing the latest technological advances, she provides her patients with the most optimal vision possible. In her free time, Dr. Pacheco enjoys taking full advantage of the great outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. On the weekends you can find her skiing, rock climbing, or hiking a fourteener. Robert I. Fish

Dr. Robert Fish is a board-certified ophthalmologist, corneal specialist, and partner of Colorado Eye Consultants. His areas of expertise include routine and complex cataract surgery, especially those involving previous cornea transplantation and refractive surgery (LASIK, Radial Keratotomy). He also specializes in the latest techniques for cornea transplantation including Descemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK), Descemet's Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK), Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK) and Penetrating Keratoplasty (PKP). He also performs minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) for the management of moderate to severe glaucoma. Dr. Fish is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed his undergraduate and medical school training at Indiana University in Bloomington. After spending time researching and publishing in the field of Molecular Biology, he decided to pursue a career in medicine. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2005, graduating with honors and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He then completed his medical internship at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee before moving on to his Ophthalmology residency. He trained at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where he was elected to serve as Chief Resident. During this time, he was actively involved in ophthalmological research and presented at several national meetings as well as, published several papers. Dr. Fish then completed a Cornea, Refractive and External Disease Fellowship at the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye institute in Aurora, Colorado. He has been honored to participate in the American Board of Ophthalmology certification process for diplomates seeking board certification both as an oral board examiner and in developing the exam curriculum. He also has served on the board of Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons for many years in various positions, including holding the position of President and was elected to the prestigious American Eye Study Club. Dr. Fish is a nationally recognized cornea specialist and is often invited to serve as a thought leader in various aspects of the Ophthalmology physician community. Dr. Fish enjoys residing in the beautiful state of Colorado and providing outstanding medical and surgical care to the community for which he lives. In his spare time, Dr. Fish enjoys spending time with his family. They enjoy mountain activities such as biking, hiking, and skiing. They also enjoy traveling with a goal to see as much of the world as possible.
