Dr Jay Wiper is the Acting Director of the Plastic Surgery Unit & Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon in the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane with a specialist interest in all types of skin cancer & general plastic surgery. He works publicly at the PA Hospital (Brisbane), where he undertakes a wide range of complex microsurgical reconstructive procedures for both Head & Neck cancer and complex trauma. He is the lead of the award winning Skin Lesion & Assessment Management (SLAM) service. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS In the UK, Jay led the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery service for one of the largest Major Trauma Centres (MTC) in the UK, and was an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is frequently invited to lecture and teach in reconstructive techniques both nationally and internationally and is actively involved in teaching Surgical Registrars and is the current RACS SET Supervisor at the PA hospital. Jay is currently accepting referrals for all general plastic surgery with a specialist expertise in skin cancer surgery. He has short wait times for both consultation and undertaking any required surgery. Dr Jeannine McManus is a Queensland trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. After completing medical school at the University of Queensland, Jeannine went on to complete her medical residency at the Royal Brisbane and Princess Alexandra Hospitals. Having moved to the Sunshine Coast with her young family, Jeannine accepted a position as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH), where her work benefits not only patient care but also teaching the next generation of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. She is the supervisor of training for the Plastic Surgery unit at SCUH. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS Following a period of General Surgical training, she commenced her training in the competitive field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery through Queensland's public hospital system. Her training focused extensively on skin cancer resection and reconstruction, lower limb trauma reconstruction, reconstruction after head and neck cancer as well as breast surgery. During her training time she was awarded The Mervyn Neely Memorial Award for Excellence in Surgical Teaching through the University Qld Medical School.She has also completed a Masters of Public Health through the University of Queensland and a Masters of Surgery through the University of Sydney.
