DURBANVILLE FC - Key Persons
Darren Frittelli joined the Durbanville Football Club as a junior. He represented the u13 - u17 age groups.
Darren was selected, in 2002, as one of the most promising juniors to train with the Durbanville Summer 1st Team. He made his first team debut that same year aged 17. In 2003 Darren played his first full season of 1st team football winning his first league title as well as being voted Club Footballer of the Year.
Darren, who has played in the Mvela league at FC Fortune and Western Province United, has gone on to win 11 league titles and 5 cup medals in only 11 years of senior football. He attributes his success to the unbelievable coaching he has received from Dean Genade and Graham Purdy. He also believes that the success he has achieved as an individual is down not only to the hard work demanded by the coaches that he has put in, but, also the quality of team mates he has had the pleasure of playing alongside over this period.
Darren was awarded the CTTFA Player of the Year for 2016.
He wears jersey number 5.

Graham Purdy joined the Durbanville Football Club in 1989 at the age of 18. He played a handful of games in the reserves before being called up to the 1st team where he is still involved today. Graham won his first league title in 1997 under the guidance of coach Dean Genade.
Graham has subsequently, as player and manager, won 20 trophies with the club, including 13 league titles and 7 knock out trophies.
He started with jersey number 10, but his favourite jersey is now number 23.
He attributes his success to the support of his wife Karin and daughter Chloe.
John Wesley Holgate joined Durbanville Football Club in 1990 as an 8 years old.
He started off in the U10C team but moved up to the A team in the same year, playing in the A teams throughout his junior career, finally skipping the last year of U17 to play seniors (2nd team).
He won his first trophy in 2001, 1st Division Knock out cup, scoring the 3rd crucial goal (score was 2-2) goal in a 4-2 win over Lansdowne. Wesley won his first league title in 2003 under the guidance of coaches Dean Genade & Graham Purdy.
He won 12 trophies with the club, 7 league titles and 5 knock out trophies.
His Durbanville career highlight had to be the 2007 Treble Season, and more specifically, the SAFA Red Heart sponsored Rum Cup victory.
Roman started his football career as a junior for Seapoint Swifts. Players like Calvin Pietersen came from this team. He won the junior talent cup, as a 16 year old, in 1984.
After a handful of games for the Swifts Under 18 team, Roman moved up to play for the senior first team. Following on this, he moved to Aurora FC (known as Athlone Kings), famous players of that era for Aurora FC included Trevor Manuel, who also played for Hellenic and in Greece. A number of trophies followed for Roman at Aurora FC. He returned to play Super League for Seapoint Swifts in 1992/1993 before signing for AC Milan (Cape Town) in the 1994/5 season.
