Brian Sasser is EHF's Chief Communications Officer. He spent 20 years in television news as a reporter, producer and photographer. Most recently, Brian spent 13 years as the investigative producer and national field producer at KPRC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Houston. He oversees all of EHF's internal and external communications, including media relations, public relations, news and research releases, website management, video production, and communications consulting with grant partners and others. He is co-chair of the Communications Committee for Philanthropy Southwest and serves on the board of directors at HOPE Clinic in Houston. Brian previously served as co-chair of the Health Subcommittee for the Houston/Harris County 2020 Census Complete Count effort and was a member of the board of directors at Healthcare for the Homeless-Houston. Brian graduated from TCU with bachelor's degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.

Daisy Morales is the Vice President, Community Affairs at Community Health Choice (Community). She has overseen 500% growth at Community, created new market segments, and honed multicultural marketing for Community and within the local marketplace. Daisy helps other organizations in the community within her industry grow and thrive. She helps guide the investments her organization makes in other health and human services non-profits. Daisy collaborates with other leaders in the Greater Houston region, helping start new clinics in at-risk neighborhoods, and building capacity at other non-profits. Daisy is passionate about the well-being of women and children. She volunteers with many worthy causes in the community, sometimes in formal leadership and other times simply working on the front lines, anonymously. Dr. Ann Barnes is President and CEO of Episcopal Health Foundation. She joined EHF in October of 2022. Throughout her career, Ann has led innovative care solutions that go beyond the doctor's office to tackle social, economic, and environmental drivers of health. Most recently, Ann served as Senior Vice President and Chief Health Officer at Harris Health, the largest safety-net health system in Greater Houston. Ann was responsible for developing the system's health equity strategy and also led the system's efforts to improve population health, prevent disease, and address chronic conditions by integrating community resources that impact underlying, non-medical conditions like food security, safe places to exercise, poverty, and more. Prior to Harris Health, she was Chief Medical Officer at Legacy Community Health, a large federally qualified health center system in Houston that serves more than 170,000 patients. Ann oversaw all clinic services and was instrumental in introducing the Health Leads model for patient health that focused on non-medical drivers of health. She also served as the principal investigator for a National Institute of Health project that established a first-of-its-kind registry to understand factors that lead to successful weight loss maintenance in African Americans. Ann is a proud native of Houston's Fifth Ward and came back to work with Houston's at-risk communities after graduating from Yale University and Harvard Medical School. She's a board certified internist who completed her residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and also earned a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health. She serves on several boards including Good Reason Houston, Healthy Living Matters, Texas 2036 and the Kinder Institute.

Dr. Shao-Chee Sim

Dr. Shao-Chee Sim is the Episcopal Health Foundation's Vice President for Research, Innovation and Evaluation. He leads the division's work in health policy analysis, research, planning and pilot projects to advance the strategic plan of the Foundation. Current priority areas include statewide health policy public opinion surveys, managed care organizations (MCO) social determinants of health strategies, multi-sectoral community health collaborative, health center payment reform, and rural healthcare service delivery. Shao-Chee comes to EHF after more than 20 years of research, planning, and strategy experience within philanthropy, federally-qualified health centers (FQHCs) and nonprofit organizations. Most recently, he was the chief strategy officer of the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center in New York City. Dr. Sim also assumed research leadership roles at the Wallace Foundation and the Asian American Federation. He currently serves on the Board of the Asian and Pacific Islander American Health Forum, National Rural Health Resource Center, on the advisory committee of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission's Value Based Payment and Quality Improvement Committee, and the Asian American Policy Review at Harvard's JFK School of Government. Dr. Sim earned his Master's degree in public administration from the JFK School of Government at Harvard University and a doctorate in public policy from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.

Jo Z. Carcedo

Jo Z. Carcedo is the Vice President for Grants for the Episcopal Health Foundation. In this role she developed the foundation's grantmaking system, oversees all operational aspects of the organization's grantmaking portfolios, supervises program officer and grants management staff, directs the foundation's $45 million grants budget and all organization-wide grantmaking policies, processes, and systems to ensure EHF's grantmaking is aligned with its core values and strategic goals. She has raised more than $300 million in public grants and contracts from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services including: Administration for Children and Families, Health Resources & Services Administration, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration; the Texas Education Agency and several private philanthropies. She is published in The Foundation Review, blogged for Health Affairs, and has been featured in the Annual Report of the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute (2018). She has served as board chair of Philanthropy Southwest, served on the Selection Committee of the Lone Star Prize-a statewide competition to source transformative solutions that improve the quality of life for Texans sponsored by Lyda Hill Philanthropies; is a grant reviewer for the U.S. Health Resources & Services Administration, and served on the Grants Committee for the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund established by the Mayor of the City of Houston and the Harris County Judge. Jo has a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman's University, a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University.

Katie Wright

The Rev. Katie Wright has been the eighth rector of St. Matthew's Church in Austin since February of 2021. Previously she served at St. David's Episcopal Church in Austin as the Associate Rector and Locum Tenens. She has served as the Vice Chair of Capital IDEA in Austin. The Rev. Wright was previously rector of St. Andrew's in Elyria, Ohio, and she has also served as Associate Rector in charge of youth and family ministries at St. Mark's in Glen Ellyn, Illinois; Youth Minister at Ascension in Dallas, Texas; and Director of Children's Ministries at Transfiguration in Dallas, Texas. Lisa Madry

Lisa Madry currently serves as the Vice President for Community Engagement. In her previous roles in EHF Engagement, she helped develop and implement the foundation's collaborative work with congregations in the Diocese. She has served in various leadership roles with education, community development, and environmental organizations for more than 25 years. She previously led the National Wildlife Federation's field programs with college campuses focused on climate action and campus sustainability. She also served as a community organizer for six years for the Industrial Areas Foundation network in San Antonio and Houston. Lisa currently serves in a volunteer capacity on the Executive Committee of the National Board of Governors for the Human Rights Campaign. Lisa grew up in Corpus Christi, is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is a life-long Episcopalian.

Maria Wyckoff Boyce

Maria Wyckoff Boyce is a partner at Hogan Lovells LLP in Houston, Texas, where she prosecutes and defends complex commercial and intellectual property cases in the energy and technology industries in courts throughout the United States. Maria is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and is ranked by Chambers. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells in 2015, Maria was a partner at Baker Botts LLP, where she served as the first female office managing partner of a major Houston law firm and served three terms on the firm's Executive Committee. In 2014, Maria was appointed by Senator Cornyn and Senator Cruz to serve on the bipartisan committee that interviews federal judicial candidates for district court and Fifth Circuit vacancies in Texas. In this role, she actively participates in the process of vetting presidential-appointed federal judges in Texas. Within the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, Ms. Boyce serves as Chair of the Constitution and Canons Committee and previously served as President of the Great Commission Foundation, a Director of the Bishop Quin Foundation, and a Vestry member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church. She is a Trustee of Connecticut College, a Director of Night Court, and a Director of the Women in Law Empowerment Forum, Houston Chapter. Michelle A. Lyn

Michelle A. Lyn, MD, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and the Medical Director of Care Management/Patient Flow at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University in Connecticut, her medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York. After serving an additional year as Chief Resident, she moved to Texas to complete her postgraduate fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Lyn holds multiple medical board certifications focused on the health and well-being of pediatric patients. Dr. Lyn's academic accomplishments include published chapters and mixed media presentations on topics pertinent to child health. She has been the recipient of the Baylor College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Award of General Excellence in Teaching and the Baylor College of Medicine Fulbright and Jaworski Excellence in Teaching Award. She is also the recipient of several Houston community awards including the Breakthrough Women Award from Texas Executive Women and The Houston Chronicle and the Unstoppable Leader Award from the Greater Houston Women Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Lyn's volunteer activities have included serving on the Board of Directors for Healthy Family Initiatives, St. Agnes Academy, Episcopal Health Charities, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Wesleyan University, and the Episcopal Health Foundation.

Patricia Cox Snyder - SVP

Before establishing Mountaintop Consulting, she was a vice president at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where she made private equity investments in high-growth companies. She began her Goldman career as an investment banker in the Mergers & Strategic Advisory Group, advising oil and gas, oilfield services, power, consumer/retail, and industrial companies on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate finance matters. Ms. Owodunni graduated with honors from Yale University and received her J.D. from Yale Law School. She has served as a board member for numerous private companies, nonprofit organizations, and industry associations. She currently serves as a board member of Cadence Bank (NYSE: CADE) and Baylor College of Medicine.

Rev. Francene Young

The Rev. Francene Young is the Dean of Administration for the Episcopal Diocese of Texas' Iona School for Ministry. Until recently, she served as Chair for the Diocesan Commission on Ministry and was the Rector at St. Luke the Evangelist in Houston's Third Ward from January 2012 until February 2021. While at St. Luke, Rev. Young served for three years as the Transition Minister for the Diocese of Texas. In this this role she assisted churches in transition through the search process seeking new clergy. Prior to her ordination, Francene worked for Shell US in Human Resources. At the time of her retirement in 2013, she was the VP for Diversity for Shell US and Canada and VP for Talent Management for Shell's Upstream business.  Francene is a graduate of the Iona School for Ministry. She received a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and an undergraduate in Social Services from Cleveland State University. She is married to Ken Jones, an accountant in the Research division at the University of Houston. They live in Houston.

Roland A. Goertz

Dr. Goertz served as CEO of the Waco Family Health Center for 22 years until his retirement in 2019. The Center functions as a Federally Qualified Health Center and the recognized provider of ambulatory healthcare for the vulnerable populations of McLennan County, Texas. The Center also operates Post Graduate Health Education Programs including a family medicine residency program that has trained over half the practicing family physicians in the McLennan County area. Dr. Goertz is a past president of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Association of Community Health Centers, and the McLennan County Medical Society. He has served on various committees of the Texas Medical Association and chaired the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Family Medicine Residency Advisory Committee. He is a past chair of the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and Waco Business League. He received the McLennan County Medical Society's "Gold Headed Cane" award in 2010 for contributions to the health of the community and to his profession. He is a recipient of the "Distinguished Alumnus Award" from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Medical School Alumni Association. Dr. Goertz is a board member of the Waco-based (philanthropic) Cooper Foundation. Dr. Goertz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Edward's University (Austin, Texas), an Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, and a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University. The Rt. Rev. C. Andrew Doyle - Chairman

Bishop Andy Doyle is the ninth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Born in Illinois and raised in Houston, Bishop Doyle served five years as Canon to the Ordinary prior to his election as bishop in 2008. Bishop Doyle graduated from the University of North Texas with a fine arts degree and earned a Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary prior to his ordination in 1995. He was later awarded a Doctor of Divinity from both Virginia Theological Seminary and the University of the South, Sewanee, TN. Bishop Doyle served at Christ Church, Temple and St. Francis, College Station before being appointed Canon to the Ordinary for Bishop Wimberly in 2003. He is a published author, accomplished painter, a trained mediator and is fluent in Spanish. Bishop Doyle's ministry includes a broad range of experience on boards including diocesan foundations, finance and communication, Mission Funding, Executive Board and the Hispanic Commission.
