The Family Football League (FFL) was established in 1909 and uses almost identical rules to AFL. Currently, there are six teams in the competition; the Chamberlains, Crisfords, Waterworks, Canberra, Cockers and Hoskings. When the league was first introduced, a season would feature nine games per year between the Chamberlains and the Crisfords. The Waterworks entered the league in 1925, shortly followed by Canberra in 1935 prompting an increase in rounds (from nine to twenty-four) and the introduction of a regular finals system. The league remained unchanged for 75 years until the Cockers joined in 2010, followed by the Hoskings in 2011. There is now a new finals system which was employed in the 2012 finals season. In 2009, the FFL celebrated its 100th Anniversary and the Chamberlains were victorious by 1 point in the Grand Final against Canberra.
