André B. De Souza

Dr. André Barbisan De Souza has more than a decade of clinical, chairside experience in periodontics and implant dentistry. Most recently, he taught periodontics and dental implant surgery at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston's Department of Prosthodontics, where he also obtained his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree (DMD). Additionally, he holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the State University of Maringá, Brazil, where he received his training in periodontology and a master's degree (MSc). He was a recipient of an International Team for Implantology (ITI) scholarship and conducted a fellowship program in implant dentistry at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM). Dr. De Souza is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID). A prolific researcher and scientific writer, Dr. De Souza wrote or co-authored more than 40 articles published in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of periodontics and implant dentistry. He is particularly interested in technology applications in implant dentistry, minimally invasive periodontal surgery, as well as digital dentistry, implementing the most innovative methods to optimize implant planning and clinical outcomes. He has lectured at numerous international meetings for the ITI, Osteology Group, Taiwan Academy of Implant Dentistry (TAID), Asia Pacific Academy of Implant Dentistry (APAID), European Academy of Periodontology (EAP), Academy of Osseointegration (AO) and The American Prosthodontic Society (APS). Dr. De Souza is also an adjunct professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He is also a partner of DevRight, a national medical media group, dedicated to teaching presentation skills and implementing technology applications and developments in dentistry. Dr. De Souza previously practiced in Boston with several dental and specialty groups, providing dental implant surgery, periodontal procedures, and gum and bone regeneration. He recently moved south to Boca Raton with his wife, Paula, and son, Daniel, where he says they are delighted to be able to bike and play soccer all year long. He is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Dr. Eitan Gross

  • Dental Anesthesiologist
Dr. Eitan Gross is a dental anesthesiologist, Board Certified by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. His practice is limited to providing anesthesia and sedation services and he is one of a handful of dental anesthesiologists in Florida. He received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania, College of Dental Medicine, where he received accolades and honors while working in the clinic for medically compromised patients. Dr. Gross subsequently completed his residency in general anesthesia at Lutheran Medical Center (an NYU teaching center) in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Gross expands our ability to safely treat patients with complex medical problems or those requiring deeper sedation or anesthesia. While we still provide our traditional methods of oral, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or intravenous sedation methods, his addition reinforces our top priority - patient safety and comfort.

Frederic J. Norkin

After earning his BA from Emory University, Dr. Norkin earned his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He completed a general practice residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Miami, Florida where he received extensive training in hospital and operating room dentistry, as well as invaluable experience in the treatment and management of medically compromised and "dentally-phobic" patients. These experiences benefit his patients to this day. Dr. Norkin then received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Periodontology from Nova Southeastern University where he remained as an adjunct professor for more than 12 years, all while maintaining his full-time private practice. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is Board Certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. He is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI). Dr. Norkin is one of the few periodontists in South Florida that is certified in conscious sedation, allowing him to treat even the most apprehensive patients. He is also a pioneer of Yomi Robotic-Guided Dental Surgery, advancing the state-of-the-art in robot-assisted surgical techniques for the benefit of dental patients. Dr. Norkin is an accomplished author, publishing original research on a variety of clinical topics including early and immediate loading of dental implants, regenerative surgery, complex treatment planning, and cone beam CT scans among others. Dr. Norkin shares his expertise with the dental community by lecturing on complex subjects that aid in providing patients everywhere the highest standard of treatment. His special areas of interest and treatment include minimally invasive surgical techniques for the treatment of periodontal disease, bone and soft tissue regeneration, the esthetics of beautiful smiles, and early and immediate loading of dental implants. Liliana Aranguren

Dr. Lilana Aranguren joined South Florida Center for Periodontics & Implant Dentistry in 2016 after completing two residencies at the University of Connecticut in General Dentistry and Periodontics, as well as a research-focused Masters in Dental Science. Born and raised in Venezuela, she graduated in 2002 with highest honors from University of Zulia, in Maracaibo, Venezuela's second largest city. She received a rare faculty appointment as well as practiced in Maracaibo briefly before leaving the country for South Florida due to political and economic turmoil. She then embarked on a 12-year quest to build her American credentials and earned an opportunity to attend the two-year University of Connecticut Residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry, where she learned and practiced hospital dentistry, advanced restorative dentistry and other disciplines. While in this program, she was recruited to the three-year residency in periodontics. Dr. Aranguren is a pioneer of Yomi Robotic-Guided Dental Surgery, advancing the state-of-the-art in robot-assisted surgical techniques for the benefit of dental patients. She lectures to local and international dental groups on subjects including implant complications and regenerative periodontal treatment.
