A.W. Green Shield Coaches

A club favourite, Nick was a talented allrounder who claimed 147 wickets and scored 1,991 runs for the stags between 2013 and 2021, mostly in second grade. A dangerous fast-medium bowler, he is perhaps best known for his punishing batting.

Andrew Falk

Brett Hunter

Brett played 72 first grade games for the Randwick-Petersham club. A hard-hitting batsman in any position, he was also a handy off-spinner while simply dynamic in the field. In 2006-07 Brett was named as the Randy-Petes Player of the Season. Brett scored 1,941 runs, claimed 101 wickets and took 53 catches in his six seasons playing for Randwick Petersham.

Brett Rosen

Brett Rosen joins the Gordon coaching ranks this season as our wicket keeping specialist. Brett is a former first grade player and 3rd grade premiership winner (2008/09) in a team including current head coach Elliot Richtor and selector Ed Howitt. He was an exceptional keeper and very good batsmen. Brett is the son of Gordon legend Marshall Rosen and is looking forward to working with all our keepers during the season.

Daniel Lee

Having played baseball for Australia as a junior, Daniel took his skills to America where he played at Redlands Community College (Oklahoma) and The University of Indianapolis (Indiana). On his return to Australia, Daniel played for the Sydney Blue Sox in Australian Baseball League, while studying his Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at Macquarie University. Having experienced significant shoulder and knee injuries, Daniel identified an underdeveloped link in high level Physiotherapy treatment for throwing athletes, particularly the emphasis on understanding the throwing technique and biomechanics. Daniel brings his experience and knowledge to GDCC, providing a specific approach to throwing/fielding, as well as injury prevention and management. Please don't hesitate to chat to Daniel at training/games regarding fielding, throwing or about any injuries that you may have.

Elliot Richtor

After coaching our Poidevin Gray team to our first PGs premiership in 45 years in the 2020-21 season, Elliot was appointed head coach, a role that includes the responsibility of first grade match-day coach. ‘Els' had a long and successful career in first grade for Gordon, scoring 3,570 runs at an average of 30.51 between 2009 and 2019 and taking 57 wickets with his medium-pace bowling. He scored 787 runs in the 2016-17 season and took 22 wickets at an average of 17.82, resulting in him winning the O'Reilly Medal as NSW Premier Cricket Player of the Year in 2017, sharing the award with team-mate Mason Crane.

Julian Stephenson

A former Stag, Julian is a Registered Personal Trainer / Gym Instructor with AUSactive. He is a Level 3 AUSactive Registered Professional with over 10 years in the health and fitness industry.

Matt Nicholson

Club legend Matt Nicholson continues in his role as fast bowling coach this season. ‘Nicho' achieved early success playing for Gordon, but moved to Western Australia to break into first-class cricket. He returned to NSW towards the end of his career. Matt claimed 406 first class wickets at an average of 29.91, with best figures of 7/62. He scored 3,258 first class runs at an average of 23.78, with a highest score of 133. He also played one test match against England in Melbourne, taking 4 wickets at an average of 28.75.

Paul McLean

Paul came to the club as an 18 year old from Lismore and played first grade for 8 years in the 1990s. He was one of the best players of the hook shot and pull shot of his time and was a member of our 1989-90 and 1990-91 premiership winning first grade teams. Since retiring as a player, Paul has coached with Cricket NSW North Coast Region.
