MULTI-MATERIALS STEWARDSHIP BOARD

The Multi-Materials Stewardship Board (MMSB) was established in 1996 by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to support and promote sustainable waste management in the province. MMSB reports to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment. As a self-financed Crown agency, MMSB does not receive funding from the Government. Operating revenues are derived from levies applied on used beverage containers and used tires, as well as from the sale of recyclable materials.
