HAMILTON COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISER - Key Persons
Job Titles:
- Elected Property Appraiser
Clayton J. "Clay" Goolsby is a born and raised 6th generation Hamilton County native who served in the Hamilton County Property Appraiser's office during the late 80's to early 2000's under Kenneth Tuten, and then David H. Goolsby Jr. During his tenure, Clay worked in various roles within the office, including Field Appraiser, Agricultural Appraiser, Mapper, GIS Developer/Analyst and just about anything else in between. At the same time, he attained the educational requirements to become a Certified Florida Evaluator, and Certified Cadastralist of Florida.
In 2002 after 16 years of service to the people of Hamilton County, a difficult decision was made to leave the office and seek another career path with one of the world's largest producers of plant and animal nutrients where he served them faithfully for 22 years. In 2024 his heart's desire was to once again return to public service, and with the impending retirement of the Property Appraiser, he qualified, ran for, and was elected as Hamilton County's next Property Appraiser for 2025. His mission is to be a dependable and trustworthy public servant, always valuing what matters most, which is the people of Hamilton County.
