Mountain climbing has fascinated the adventure seeker for a long time. There have been many positive stories about people who have decided to take challenges to summit the tallest mountain of the world Mt. Everest. I am A girl who was born in the lap of Mt. Khumbu-Khumjung-4 located in Solukhumbu District on 2nd may 1984 Being born in a Sherpa family I have always seen that tourism is the main mode of earnings in the Himalayan region and I was brought up in a society where all people are so dependent in tourism. There is either a trekking guide or a mountaineer in a family. From my childhood, I have always heard about Mt. climbers and their success stories from my father(late Ang Chhumbi sherpa). I believe that somehow burns a fire in me to climb a mountain one day. By the time passed and I got married late. Tshering Wongchu sherpa who was a mountaineer in the year 2005 However, sadly there are not just success stories as there are also cases where people with the same motivation and goals were not able to make it till the end. Such stories warn us about what could happen if we are not careful enough. unfortunately, my husband was a part of that sad story which became a permanent reminder to me. He left us in 2014. That shattered me apart, that broke me into pieces but I have to be strong for my two children and for their future; tell everyone that widow women can also survive without any dependency. So, this is where my Mt. climbing journey begins. This is me Nima Doma Sherpa. I am a widow, a mother of two kids who never believed in herself, who was always worried about what society thinks and comments. But now the case is different, I introduced myself as a proud mother, who made her dream alive after cutting all the boundaries, and emotions and motivating all the widows /women who think they can't do anything. And, this is where my other part of life begins, I started climbing in 2017. The very first mountain that I summit was Chulu East (height 6584) which lies in the Manag district on 12th November 2018. It is said once you start your journey you never stop. So, after my first summit, I decided to go for another, and then I again summited Island Peak ( height 6189) which is located in Solukhumbu District on 10th December 2018. I was more confident about my dream and on 21st April 2019, I again summit Labuche peak ( height of 6100m) after that completion the big day of my life was here. The dream I always wanted to make true, the story I always use to hear in my childhood from my father I was heading towards to climb the tallest Mountain Of the world ie Mt. Everest. So, on May 23rd, 2019 I summit Mt Everest. This is where I felt that if you have a dream fight for it and work on it. I was so proud of myself that I made my late Husband, dream come true. After that, I climbed Mt Amadablam on 3rd November 2019. And this is how I built myself up. Today I am also the brand ambassador of US Sherpa. US Sherpa is an authentic Sherpa brand that provides natural fiber products and handcrafted products for active caring and outdoor lifestyles. Mr. Thakur Raj Pandey has been a seminal figure in the field of tourism and ecology in Nepal for over 35 years. He is the former General Secretary of Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), an organization administering mountain activities in Nepal, and a general board member of Namlo Nepal, an organization dedicated to empowering the rural communities of Nepal. He is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable and respected figures not just in the field of tourism, but also in the field of culture, ecology, and wildlife of this country. As a student of anthropology and sociology at Tribhuvan University, Mr. Pandey spent years studying various indigenous cultures, ecology, wildlife, and landscapes of Nepal and its neighboring countries, such as India, Bhutan, and Tibet. He then spent his time exploring these places and getting the first- hand experience of various aspects of these regions. Over the years, he's managed to accumulate an encyclopedic knowledge of these areas, rivaled only by a few, and has become your go-to-guy for any sort of information regarding this country. Whether you want to know the name of that never- seen flower you saw in some remote village or want to find that hidden, quirky restaurant at the heart of the city, he will not disappoint you. With the aim of fostering fair rules and regulations for everyone involved in mountaineering, Mr. Pandey joined the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) in 2014. Since then he has participated in several international tourism development programs, such as UIAA (The International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) and UAAA (Union of Asian Alpine Association) and has traveled all over the world (US, Japan, UK, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Germany, and almost all South Asian countries) promoting tourism in Nepal. He has also been an active member of organizations such as Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN), Namlo Nepal, and Kathmandu Environment Education Project (KEEP). In addition to being involved in various tourism and ecology related developmental activities, Mr. Pandey has been successfully running his own trekking company, First Environmental Trekking, for nearly 3 decades. His significant contributions to tourism and his genuine love and concern for anyone who visits this country have made him one of the most loved people in the field of tourism in Nepal. Being a responsible citizen he has been involved in community development by being the founding member of the Megha Bank and Manmohan Memorial Hospital, community services to the local community by being a Chairman of the Siddheshwar Development Committee, and involved in Lion Club, Redcross society by doing various community work to the community.
