MENGER EYE CENTER - Key Persons
Dr. Irit Zakaim graduated from Salus University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science in Biology. She received her first Optometry degree from Israel College of Optometry in Tel Aviv and practiced at Enaim Medical Center in Jerusalem. After years of practice in Israel, Dr. Zakaim decided to move back to the United Sates and in 2007 she accomplished her Doctorate of Optometry degree, with honors from Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana. Dr. Zakaim provides comprehensive eye care for adults and pediatrics with specialty in treatment and management of ocular disease. During her free time, Dr. Zakaim enjoys playing tennis, hiking and practicing yoga.
Dr Peter Menger recently joined the Zeiss Surgical sponsored mission trip to Panama City, Panama. He and Dr Ed Hu, from Iowa City, Iowa, operated on local residents in this severely medically underserved area. The Mission was successful teaming with a cohort of local surgeons performing more than 100 operations. Dr. Menger noted that we in the US take for granted that we all have access to modern medical systems that are severely lacking outside our borders.
Dr. Peter Menger is treating the current generation of those same families. Dr. Menger and his wife, Virginia, have been Garden City residents since 1990 and have raised both their sons here.
