MEDICUS WEALTH PLANNING - Key Persons

Brett Weston

Job Titles:
  • Financial Advisor
Brett first found his passion for financial planning after discovering the F.I.R.E. movement (Financial Independence, Retire Early) and realizing that personal finance was more about life planning than simply managing finances. He took this passion and went on to study accounting at the University of Utah, acquire his CFP® designation, and obtain a master's degree in Financial Planning. He hopes to instill this same passion into the people he meets. Desiring authenticity with clients, Brett decided to start his career at a fee-only financial planning firm in Murray, UT where he worked for nearly 5 years. Brett joined Medicus after meeting the team and appreciating the no-nonsense philosophy of acting as fiduciaries for clients.

Dan Loose

Job Titles:
  • Financial Advisor
Over the last 25 years, Dan has worked diligently to help companies and individuals make wise financial decisions. In 2013, he felt a calling to not only help companies and people with their acquisitions, but to also help them make wise decisions with their whole financial picture. He feels particular empathy and compassion for individuals whose marriages are being torn apart by poor financial decisions. He has seen this first-hand by hosting Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University courses and doing pro bono work for churches and charities like the Salt Lake Rescue Mission. According to Dan, "Financial literacy can change the destiny of not only the present generation, but future generations as well." Dan enrolled in the Personal Financial Planning Program at UVU in order to add textbook personal financial planning skills to his quiver of business financial skills while simultaneously working at a financial planning firm in Salt Lake City. With a CFP® designation, he is proud to help families change their destinies. In 2018, he joined Medicus Wealth Planning because he appreciates the fee-only financial philosophy shared by everyone at the firm. Additionally, he enjoys working at a firm where there are no fiefdoms, no commissions, no products to push, no quotas and no attitude. The only thing we are interested in is attaining our clients' financial goals. Dan focuses on teaching people how to be financially literate. He does this through his workshops and the solid financial advice he delivers through his comprehensive financial planning services.
