Located in the heart of Houston's Museum District, the MFAH is a dynamic cultural complex comprising three gallery buildings, a sculpture garden, visitors center, gift shop, library, restaurants, two art schools, two movie theaters, and two house museums... In order to make more of the entire collection available to interested parties, the MFAH included a study center in the construction plans for the Audrey Jones Beck Building, which opened in 2000. Located on the mezzanine level, the Anne Wilkes Tucker Photography Study Center is a unique, multi-use site that houses the storage areas for these objects in secure, climate-controlled facilities. The study center is used by staff, visiting curators and scholars, school groups (high school to college), collectors, Museum members, and the general public to enjoy, first-hand, works from these extensive collections.
