The firm was founded in 2009 by Andrew M. Edison, David T. McDowell, and Thomas F. A. Hetherington, three highly regarded Texas trial attorneys. For many law firms, the 2008 financial crisis and subsequent economic downturn made 2009 a difficult year. Our firm, however, embraced the changing dynamics of the legal market, focused on providing exceptional representation to our clients, and thrived as a result. Founded on that core belief - serving our clients through top-quality litigation and trial services - McDowell Hetherington established itself as a national trial firm with depth in the energy, insurance, and financial services sectors... Over the last fifteen years, much has changed. In 2013, we opened an office in Northern California; in 2016, we expanded into Florida; and in January 2018, the firm was renamed McDowell Hetherington.
