Max has a strong background in higher education, organizational communication, and speechwriting. A native of Knoxville, TN, he earned a Master of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Tennessee. Max is drawn to the NRV area because of its stunning scenery and easy access to the great outdoors. In his spare time, he enjoys attending concerts, participating in outdoor activities, and visiting local vintage markets.

As Marketing Manager, Rachel manages branding, websites and social media platforms for Virginia's New River Valley and Onward NRV; promoting the region as a premier destination to live, work and do business. Rachel has a varied background in management and television, bringing a variety of skills to the team. She was born in Northern Virginia, went to school in Central Virginia and now lives in Radford. While having lived abroad, she returned to the New River Valley for all that it has to offer for work, for family, and for the region itself. In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and exploring the area.

She loves spending time with her family either hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains or camping on the New River, and they appreciate the opportunities to enjoy nature that making their home in the New River Valley provides.
